Schatzi's visit to Grandma's

Randy took his dad shoe shopping today so Schatzi and I went to stay with his mom. She has recently entered hospice care for end-stage lung disease and needs someone to be with her at all times. She LOVES Schatzi and loves to have her visit. They were having hot dogs that we brought them for lunch, and Schatzi found out that she could get treats from them, just by begging and being cute.
The funniest part is watching Schatzi with their birds. She is hilarious. The funniest picture is the third one where the bird is looking down at Schatzi as if to say, "I'm up here in the cage and you can't get me!".

Schatzi looks fantastic!  She does a very nice sit pretty, too.  I find that to be irresistable at my house-it really does work.

Thank you. I have video of her with the birds that I need to post to youtube and put up a link for. The noises she makes are so funny. Schatzi has stayed in pretty good shape, but I did notice yesterday that she has gained a little this winter. With the time change, we aren't getting our daily walk in after work and it is showing. Between playing with Murphy and walking, she was the perfect size right before the colder weather hit. It is going to be warmer tomorrow, so we will definitely be outside!

Those are adorable! I'd sure be giving her bites if she sat up for me like that.  She is such a pretty girl! LOL love the bird one looking down on her. Your MIL looks like a dear, bless her heart, such a tough time...will keep her and all of you in my prayers.

What I noticed is your MIL's biiiig smile with Schatzi being super cute!  That is priceless!

The first time Randy took her to visit them, he said his mom and dad laughed the whole time at Schatzi and the birds. Now, if we are coming over, we are asked if Schatzi is coming, too. It's probably a good thing she doesn't live there or she would be huge!!! They can't resist her sitting up for them and she knows it!
Dee Dee-Thanks for the prayers. It has been a bittersweet Christmas this year with Randy's mom, and it makes New Years feel the same way. It's nice to know she probably still has a few months with us, but still sad to know the end is within sight. At least the hospice care has her feeling pretty good right now and that is what is most important.
