Another Setback...

Porky sure had an awful weekend!   Yesterday at about 10 am his eye had swollen completely shut.  We were on our way to the vet when Porky started whezing, went stiff, and passed out!   :crazyeyes:  Thankfully, the vet is only about 2 minutes from our house.    When we got there, Porky was still out, but breathing.    They took him back and gently tried to wake him.   He came to and was very shocked to be in the vet's office.   

The vet thinks the wheezing made Porky panic and pass out.        He never stopped breathing.    Porky spent the night at the vet's just to make sure he was doing okay.    They gave him some benedryl, and started him back on the eye ointment, and they gave him a bath.    When it came time to ice his eye, they had to have me do it, because he screamed and tried to bite the vet techs everytime they tried.  His little eye is so tender!    When I left at 8 last night, Porky was doing really well and his eye was doing better.

Once I left, Porky started crying and trying to find me.   The vet called us at 4 am and said we could take Porky home.  Porky did not sleep all night because he was too worried.    We are supposed to keep him inside with the air on and bathe him really well after he goes outside.  Our downstairs neighbor was smoking like a frieght train all night Saturday, so we think that aggravated Porky's allergies.    It was coming up through the vents.   

Porky is doing good so far and is fast asleep in "daddy's" chair.    He can open his eye now and acts like he feels much better.     :apls:  We are doing the bendryl 3 times a day and the eye medicine 4 times a day for now.

Oh my goodness!!!  You poor guys...when will it end and when will our little Porky Pie feel better!!!!!  Many many prayers and hugs on their way to all of you....please feel better fast little buddy....too bad the neighbor smokes!!

Mega major rays are being sent to Porky Pie!  Hope he starts feeling better real soon!  Sarge and Duggie are thinking positive thoughts for you Porky Pie.......they'll do some extra doxie prayers for you, bud!

may be worth asking to try Zytec. when Amy got stung and I spoke to the vet, I said I needed to buy some more Benydryl he said under no circumstance to give them it. I have forgotten to ask why, but out here they are perscribing Zyrtec in place of it. You never know it might help.

I was thinking the same thing, Roberta. I know someone on here had been told to use Claritin. Something has got to work better than the benedryl seems to be working. I hope Porky starts to feel much better soon!
