Most of you know that here in Cinti we had a lot of high winds when Hurricane Ike and a Cold Front met right over us two weeks ago.  Just wanted you all to see what we have been dealing with the past two weeks.  In the first picture you can see the big tree sections that fell in our back yard.  They landed right up against our back porch.  We lost our pool and suffered damage to our two decks around the pool.  Hubby brought in a skidster to help clear brush and move the logs around to stack up on a trailer.  We had a lot of brush to line up on the streets and the city workers hauled the brush off for us.  Most of the clean up is done now and we just have a few more logs to haul out of here.  From the equipment and hauling all the stuff away, and trying to level out where the pool was with a dirt pile we had in the yard, our back yard is now a dust bowl.  The pups just love it though   Zoe is digging every day to catch the moles as all the commotion has made them run underground up towards our house.  All I can do now is look at our back yard as a clean slate....we can't decide what we want to do.  I do know we are not replacing the pool and we were thinking about putting in a nice patio with a fire pit in the middle for seating.  One of our decks is salvageable and we just need to make some repairs. We could move our grill out there and have a nice area to entertain.  We also have to replace 170 feet of fence.  Oh well, there is lots of time to decide what we want to do.  All our neighbors have been so nice to help us out.  All except that is for the person in the back of us whose trees fell onto us.  He has never come over to talk to us to even see if we or the pups were okay.  Go figure!

Wow!  It amazed me that Ike got as far as Cincinnati!  Looks like some work to be done but happy that all are safe.  That tractor with the scoop has a BIG job!

I feel for you sorta looks like what was around here in the ice storm last year.

Oh yikes, was that your pool that got demolished?

Yes Patty, that was our pool.  We have finally gotten all the debris cleaned up.  We haven't replaced the fence yet as we were kinda waiting to see what the neighbor was going to do with the parts of his trees that were left (and looking kinda of unstable).  I hope he takes them down.  The babies can't get out of the yard as the fence, even though it is broken, is still too high for them to get out of.  We aren't going to replace the pool.  I was thinking of grating the yard to a nice slope and placing in a block patio (round of course...lol) and putting a firepit in the middle with chairs around it.  That way, the babies will have lots of room to run in their yard.  It has just been so hectic with all this cleanup and then my mom getting sick.  But things are on the upswing now   I just have to look at this as now the yard is a "clean slate" so to speak and we can have fun putting ideas into it and making it look nice again.
