We got a bit of snow over the weekend..   I was not ready for it...   BRRR!!!   It was so wet & heavy that it broke limbs off of our huge maple tree in the front yard..   I did take some pics of the damage, I just don't have them on the computer yet...  I just can't believe it did all that too a very strong tree..      :dontknow:       And, there is still another limb that is cracked, and will probably fall soon..  We are going to cut them on our days off, so we can lift them..   I am just very sad about our big, beautiful tree...   I almost cried when I saw it...        :doah:      I will post some pics of it later, right now I am off to work...

I think summer may be over....

If your tree was a silver maple, they are prone to rot at the core as they become very mature.  We have them all over Oswego and I had one that was huge in front of my house that rotted.  The village ignore my calls when I saw the branch that went across the road (and over power lines) had cracked the trunk all the way to the ground.  My neighbor got their attention when she called because it was going to hit her house!
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

Holey Moley....  here in Texas we are still mid-80's......   can't believe it is time to start bundling up !!!!  So sad about your tree....

So sorry about your beautiful tree Tara.  We are having 80 degree weather here in Cinti.  I assume this is unofficially Indian Summer around here as we haven't even had a frost yet.  Can't believe you have had snow already.

We almost got some snow over the weekend, but we ended up just getting the cold instead.  That's really sad about your tree!

The newspaper said we got 18 inches that weekend...  Here are the pictures of my poor tree....

I'm actually not sure what kind of maple (if it even is... lol) it is, Mike???   I really have no clue...        :dontknow:       Any ideas??

So crazy! It was 95 degrees in San Diego today!

Bummer about your tree!!!  It was 28 and snowing all day here in Wasilla, AK.  Normal......
