The workmans toilet had turned up and she was saying it was a room with a view. Its about 20 squares the front over the view has about 10 metres  of double glazed windows, so think of the nose marks

We are. Like Patty it has taken 6 months of stress to get this far.
We liked a house design, and mid year they had a 15% off sale, plus we did not want the garage so it brought it down to dooable. Then we had the hurdle of the redraw of the plans that took 3 months then the council. With a lot of people doing sea changes or tree changes to stop willly nilly builds the deemed all land outside towns FARM, up till then we did not require a planning permit..................so that involved advertising in the local paper for two weeks, 4 neighbours in the road had a stat dec they had to send in if they did not want it to go ahead. so that took 5 weeks. Then the company (Simonds) did not understand the council had the septic plans so held the plans up another two weeks.
The we have the neighbors who have lived there for 25 years, did not like us having power off the same pole as them till the power company told them it was not there call. Then three weeks ago when we had the assess road graveled he asked if we would consider getting our own run in. We said yes but in the future...........then decided to call the council and ask what we had to do to change the run in. They came out and told the guy we hired where it had to go. So neighbor did his nut saying it was not WHERE HE WANTED IT..................council has told him to pull his head in as its crown land its up to them and not up to him where they want the run in put. So guess  who will not becoming to the house warming.

But we have been having fun getting furniture etc and only have about two things to get now.

We have about 5 acres and my sister lives on the block below, we plan to try and keep both houses when we retire in a couple of years time if we can............ and maybe another furchild.............Fella has got us thinking.

The view is beautiful!!  I'm very excited that you are getting a new house.   :apls:   Hope everything goes more smoothly from now on.

PattyInAK

Its going to be beautiful, great view!  Sounds like you have been through the wringer with all the rules, regulations and permitting.  What a pain, huh???  What is the house going to be like?

Jeri

What a view!  You can see forever from there!

OH NO you guys!!  A bush house is sooooooooo not a good idea .  Mummy told us one day about something like that and it's just scary - you don't want a bush house......

Once upon a time there were three little doxies.... :thumb:.....and they all wanted to leave home and make their own houses (because their mamma had made them have a bath then cut off their toenails with clippers).

The first one made his kennel from straws from Macdonalds and it was a loooovely house but then a big bad woof came along and huffed and puffed and blew down the straw kennel.

The first little doxie ran quickly to the next one where his brudder had built a kennel made of gravy bones and they hid inside cos the big bad woof was coming.  Only being little doxies they ate up all the gravy bones before the woof came along and then they had to run to the last house (well they didn't really run they waddled because they were so full of gravy bones).

The last little doxie was the smartest of all and she had made her house of kongs and when the big bad woof huffed and puffed and tried to blow down that kennel the big bad woof's breath was just bounced right back at him and he fainted from the smell and the three little doxies ran weee weee weee all the way home to their mamma.

Erm so a house made of straws or bush is not a safe place for little doxies, tell your mamma to make it from kongs and it will be just perfect - or maybe make it from bones or pigs ears or greenies or piggy trotters or something tasty - then we will come and visit you and help you keep the big bad woof away.

Tristan and Holly I  your story!  Roberta, wow!  A new home with a beautiful view.  You might want to edjamakate the two Scottish dachshunds exactly what all is entailed in a "bush house".

Roberta

Bush house......... wee Scottish bairns means a house in the country where you can chase rabbits and hares, but try to avoid the sea eagles .

MY Fella?  You must have it bad for the standards.  The five acres sounds nice.  We only have .20 acre, enough for a backyard, but I wish the kids had a bit more room to run.  Sorry your neighbor is a nut.

Jerri I think he is  drop dead gorgious, and appears to have a great nature. I have never liked the look of standards till I saw photos of him and Dee Dee's Jessie. We are looking forward to a glass of red looking out at the view, and as I keep saying there is a spare room in Melbourne and Tambo upper.

Awww, thanks!  You are right, the standards do have a different look.  On another board, some posters attributed it to their snouts being longer.  This gives them a head shape that was described as a "bicycle seat with ears".  That's Fella alright!
