I'm home......doing okay.  I was first on the schedule for surgery --- we were home by 12:00 Noon with surgery scheduled at 7:30 a.m.  All went well with only a not so fun reaction to the sedative wearing off....i.e., getting sick.  We stopped to get the "chemistry".  I have slept most of the afternoon.  Dave and the pups have been great.  Looie is glued to me.  Sarge isn't too sure about my wrapped up hand but he is also glued to me.  More later.....Dee

Glad to hear the surgery was successful.   Getting anesthesia out of your system isn't much fun.   Sounds like the puppers know exactly what to do to help nurse you back to health!

Kari

Glad to hear that everything went well and you have some great nurses at home!

I'm okay with the anesthetic, but pain killers make me sick, and I really hate throwing up.  I feel for ya!  I hope you are at least able to sleep.  Take it easy, and get well!

So glad everything is over and now you can rest and heal. I remember when I had my ankle surgery and also when we had our accident. Schatzi really wanted to check out the bandages and we finally figured out it had to do with the "hospital" smell. Probably the betadine used. After a while she got used to it and realized that my being home was a great way to get lots of attention. Enjoy getting spoiled a little!

. . .and you'll be amazed at what you can't do one handed!  Hope your meds aren't in a safety cap - I tried to chew mine open one time about 10 days after surgery.  I still can't use a manual can opener or open the twist top on a soda!

(Hey, Sarge 'n' Looie - if you can get a line on some of those opposable thumbs, now would be a good time!.  Merlin)

Good job, Dee!  :thumb:  Glad to hear you're doing well, post-op.  How soon are you able to drive after surgery?  I wondered about this and forgot to ask earlier, although I think they'd have a better estimate for you now.  Glad to hear your boys have become velcro doglets!  :grin:  Milk it, girlfriend!  :headbang:

Glad you are at this point. You will be be amazed what you can do with one hand and;  your knees, your side, or one really good screeeeam.  Don't let your pain meds run out!  My mother used to say "you hit 40, and it's just patch, patch, patch."  I started at 18.............Heal soon.  Slritches to the dogger nurses. Is Dave a good nurse?  ; o}

Thanks for the update Dee! How are you doing now? Looks like you took to typing with one hand ok! (or did Sarge and Looie lend a couple of paws?  :wink:)

Good thoughts coming, hope you are healing up nicely. I remember when Patty had the surgery, she seemed to do well!
