I received word last night that a soldier in our church lost his life in Afghanistan yesterday. He was deployed about a month ago. In this situation, he was not killed in action but was found dead yesterday morning. An investigation is being conducted. Please remember his wife with your prayers, rays, good thoughts, etc. as she goes through this very tough time. We had a special prayer time for him the Sunday before he left, so I know the entire church will be feeling this loss. I'll let you know what they find out about the cause of death once the investigation if finished.

I knew we had quite a few military families on this board and that is why I wanted to post the news here. I knew many rays and prayers would be sent out from a very caring group of people. I didn't make it to church this morning, but plan to get in touch with the office tomorrow, or have Randy do so and see if they found out anymore as to what happened to him. Thanks for all your prayers.

Rays and prayers coming from Iowa.

My church is fairly small, but we have 4 members who have served/are serving in the military.  Every Sunday, we offer prayers for their safety and for the safety of all the souls who are putting their lives on the line for our freedom.

Karen,
He was Lt. Col Mike Robinson. He originally was from Alabama, but recently had been living in Anderson, S.C. with his wife, Kristi. She is holding up as well as can be expected under the circumstances, but I'm sure it must be getting hard now, once a little time has passed and people seem to drift away. We have a really supportive church family and her Small Groups class is really close. Our pastor leads that group and will be sure to do all he can to keep people in touch with her. I hope to eventually find out what they determined the cause of death to be, but haven't had a chance to ask our pastor, and he is the only person I would ask, other than Kristi. Otherwise, there is no telling what kind of answer I would get and how far it would be from the truth.
