Bish here So i ober heard my momma sayin dat she finks she found da purfect sister for me but she is in DAzona (momma says 5 hours a way) momma eben said dat the wescue lady emailed her so oder questions but i dunno how momma is donna pull dis off betuz day are going camping (WITH OUT ME :ticked: !!!!) next week to da BIG Bishop(CA) I didnt wanna go anyway! I would frezze my dapple off! Back to da subjecd yea I donno how momma will pull dis off but daddy did say we could get me a sisster but not untill he dot da busness started. Well keep your :xfinger: for momma to talk him into it, she still :dontknow: if we will be appoved yet. I

Penny here...my mom tries to convince my dad to get me a sister, but he says no way! My dad says the Mr. Tucker (my pet cat

) would pack up and move out if there was another dog in the house.

Hey Bishop, good luck on getting that baby sister. I love my baby sister, she is my bestest buddy and loves to snuggle up and sleep wif me. We play wrestlemania too! The best part is you will get double the treats, because little sisters are easy to steal treats from!

but now she has dot to figure out how to tell daddy!!!! Eben my gwamma is in on dis she said she would dwive out dere wif us to DArizona. I know what your talkin about SGT I love to steal tweets from my aunties. Momma wants to know if any of your momma's have eber herd of "Not So Grande Dachshund Rescue"? Any info on them? Of course your mama was approved Bishop! Great, thats one step out of the way. As for your daddy........hmmm........just TELL him that he is about to become a girls' daddy. Our Misty won over Dan's heart the first night. Little doxie girls are SO sweet. Misty is our first girl, after five boy doxies. Let us know what happens.

So momma got home last night and showed dad da pics of da little gurl dat I want for a sisster an he said "She is very cute but..." BUT!! BUT!! what

is BUT!!!! continuing "but we dont have the money" WHAT!!!!! I would give up all da toys (well maybe all but da duck) I have to get her. Momma wasnt to happy last night. She eben gave dad da cold sholder (we dont take no very well). Momma ebn said she would sell all her espensive stuff (da wedding dwess, da new D&B purse, her lenox) but no budge I fink he might give soon betuz I know we have da money oderwise he wouldnt be tating days off da work an going fishing ... grrrrrrrrrrrrr... Tell Mommy to tell Daddy that she will borrow it from Grammy. Daddies HATE that, lol. And she should be sure to tell him that Sissy will be his anniversary gift to her, and would be a gift that would last for a long time, and make both of you happy. And your part is to look sad and whine a lot.

My dh didn't want to get a sister for Daisy. That lasted three weeks, lol. He would kill to keep her now. She's daddy's little girl.

Thats the whole reason we (I) have been looking at girls b/c "he wants his own" he tinks Bishop prefer me to him so he wants a little girl that will "love" him more. It took me almost two years of whining and "unhappiness" before he said ok to getting a dog then when we went to go look at a little red dapple 2 week old pup, he saw Bishop (from Charlotte's friends previous litter) and had to have him so it went from a puppy that we would have to wait just about two months to having to have right then and there. I think "Olive" is a sign b/c before we got Bishop I tries to adopt but was always denied or never got a response back I guess because I am 22 but when I sent my app for Olive I was approved within 10mins. I told him my mom would drive out to Arizona with me but I think he is more worried about his "big" semi career change...men... the whole money thing blew me out of the water. Well all keep your :xfinger: for me I really have a gut feeling about this one. BTB TerriL if you read this, how did you work out the whole out of state adoption?

Tuscon, AZ - it is like 5hrs & 43 mins away from me. She is at the "Not So Grande Dachshund & Small Dog Rescue" www.notsograndedogs.org she has a brother, well at least i think he is her brother, named popye (see pic) I might have a little more budge on the whole bit b/c I finally (after a month :verdict: of waiting for an answer ) got my raise but I think after we get back from our Vacation I am going to make my "move" :thinik: I think i will tell him that if he lets me get her than I dont want a 1 yr anny, b-day or x-mas present. :xfinger: maybe that will work

I live 75 miles from there if there is anything I can do let me know. Why don't you see if they will hold the pup for you. When I found Petunia I just told hubby I was gonna get her and I will pay for her and her shipping. I know there was another little b/t on Petfinders by the name of Waylon- in AZ he was also a cutie.

WE GOT THE OK!!!!!!!!

So I made my move last night! I was extra nice all night and right when we got in bed and got all setteled in for the night, i told Gabe that if he let me get her that I wouldnt expect anything from him for my Birthday, anniversary or Christmas (by the by all are within a months time

) and that he would be saving a life, gave him my whole rescue pup schpeel - which includes Tax right-off- he is big on those this year. Then he asked me what all i knew about her - which is nothing other than she is a pup I still havent heard anything from the rescue about info on her, I am going to call them in a little while, and i had told him that i didnt want to get to much info on her and get my hopes up and then *trumpets* he told me that it was OK for me to get more info he would like to know a little bit more about her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I have cast the bait- got him hooked now just to slowly reel him in!!!!!

YAAAAAY!!! One step closer! I got Misty as a 5-month old puppy thru DRNA. Her family decided they "just didn't want her anymore", the heartless jerks! She is the sweetest thing and came with NO emotional baggage.

So i am a little bummed out I finally got a hold of the rescue and Olive has an appointment for tomorrow and they think that there should be no problems with her adoption.

I should have called on Tuesday and made the appointment I had emailed them but i guess they dont check them that often. I

that the lady cant adopt her. I set an appointment anyway for the 6th (earliest day that i have open to drive the 375 miles :crazyeyes: ) so that just in case the lady doesnt adopt her then the guy who runs the rescue will call me and i can pay for her adoption online and on the 6th i can go and pick her up :xfinger: that it works out. She is 10 mos old (same age as Bishop) and Popye is her brother and he said she is a sweetheart. The guy, Jess, is very nice i chatted with him for a good 20+ mins I hope this turns out like it did when I adopted my parents 2nd dog I was the 5th person on the list and I got her everyone else didnt show/ or decided they wanted a older dog. He said that if her appointment tomorrow does work out, he has another puppy comming in (with 3 others) from TX and he would email me her pic to see if i like her. See what procrastination does

Well we will see tomorrow or on Monday.

Oh bummer!!! Yes, this is what happens when you procrastinate with a one-of-a-kind item. I am so sorry, but it might still work out in your favor. I don't really believe that "things happen for a reason" and "if it was meant to be blah, blah, blah......" I just don't believe it. We all make our own luck. There are lots of sweet, sweet doxies out there who need homes. There is more than just one right one for you, and you will find her. Hang in there and keep going for it, some lucky doxie out there is waiting for you.
