I just caught up with this thread.  I'm with Patty on the "if it were meant to be" stuff.  We have free will and make things happen....or not.  Of course there IS divine intervention but the Lord helps those who help themselves, as the saying goes. 

Y'know, there are lots of dachsies out there lookin' for that perfect forever home.  You'll have your new "baby" in no time.  And whom ever it is, will be JUST PERFECT!  Hang in there.  It WILL happen.  Glad your hubby came around. 

I had to do the same little dance when I was looking at an ad in the paper and saw an ad for a b/t mini dachshund in Napa.  We lived in Santa Rosa, CA at the time.  Talkin' about a WHINE FEST!  I sure put it on, and finally Mark drove me out there.....I don't drive....and we came home with Precious Patricia whose name promptly got changed to Madison.  Our new little bundle puked grass and cat poop on our ride home.  It took a week for her to come to me......now she is FIRMLY attached.  And what they DIDN'T tell us was our baby was a real talker!  Yes, indeed.  Her yammering can be quite LOUD.  She now has been with us for over six years and yep, she's PERFECT! 

And Dolly and Madison lived happily ever after.   :apls:

Okay, just teasin'.  But he licks my teeth and steals my blankies, and everybody says "how come Sol is so grumpy".  I am not grumpy, I am just sick 0f stinky baby dog.  I was an only dog for 6 years and I was very happy.  Tell Mom all other dogs have fleas and you don't want fleas.  Double treats are good but then they will steal your toys and kill the squeakers when you aren't lookin.

Well no news from the rescue but I know that the lady she went to had three other doxies so I am sure she was perfect for them. I guess that there are a couple good things about not getting the little girl, now Gabe and I can look instead of me just looking and trying to convince him and with gas prices right now I think that Gabe was hoping that she would get adopted b/c I am sure two 5 hr trips will be too much for him and he really has his heart set on a l/h. So back to the hoping and praying that our family of three will be a family of four esp. by the summers end. Thank you all for the support!

Bis here - Sol I tink you would miss havin your brudder stealin your tweets and toys I know I would miss not seeing Miss Flaca eberyday when my momma has ta leave plus one lttle sisster or brudder and you get twipple da toys betuz den da mommas wealize dat day need to buy one extra to distwact you when she is fixen da one dat you distoywed so instead of one basket of da toys you have twee! Same goes for da tweets if your brudder steals one of your cookies den you get two one to make up for da stolen one and one to make you feel better!
