Looking for a black/tan smoothie puppy UPDATE

These folks emailed me and said they rescued a dog locally from a lady who could no longer care for her. Their daughter loves this dog to death, and it appears to be a good match.

Got a call today from someone who got my name as the DRNA person in Alaska (don't know how that happened) and I told her I would see what I could do for her. I will be sending her the link to DRNA and the application, etc. And if we can find a pup for her, do I have any volunteers who will want to help transport her to Alaska? I cannot donate any funds to this process, I am one broke puppy right now. Anyway.......if anyone hears of a little black/tan female, let me know. Thanks!

Patty, we have a dachshund/beagle mix (between 1 and 2 yrs old) at our local SPCA here in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her name is Maggie and she is mostly black and dark brown. She was rescued by the SPCA here when abandoned in a yard in 90 degree weather with a black lab puppy and a kitten. I have a friend here at work who works closely with our local SPCA. She told me Maggie and the others were about an hour away from dieing when rescued. The person who did this is being prosecuted here and her trial will be over in three weeks, at which time Maggie will be placed up for adoption. My friend here at work (she and hubby are Attorneys) has notified the SPCA when Maggie goes up for adoption she will pay the adoption fees for Maggie. Diane has 3 dogs and a cat and cannot take Maggie herself, but Diane, also arranges transports for forever homes. She is involved in multiple rescue organizations.

So, if anyone is interested, I have heard that Maggie is a real cutie!! and very playful!!

Yes, 2 to 3 years old, Crate trained, loves to ride , completely house broken. Loves her toys - she nuzzles them. She is a sweet little girl.
