:ambulance: :ambulance: :ambulance: :ambulance: :ambulance: :ambulance: :ambulance: :ambulance:     :pray:My 18 month ond daughter Mariah is STILL sick (Has been since last September).   What  has happened is that the RSV disease she contracted last September has inflamed her adenoids to a very large size and they need to be removed ASAP.  She has difficulty eating and drinking due to her not being able to breathe much through her nose, besides the "fragrant" olive green dishcharge from her eyes and nose. (I know, "eeww")

This has resulted in her needing surgery next Thursday, March 23rd @ Day surgery.    The surgery is at 8am and I will be there around 7ish.  Barring any complications we should be home by noon.

In addition she may eventually  need tubes in her ears& her tonsils need to go too.  They will not remove the tonsils until she's 3 due to the high probability of serious complications.  They do not like to operate on the little ones, but it's needed at this time...

One blessing is that it's scheduled for the first day of Spring Break so I don't have to worry about supervision for  Lynn.

I am a bit anxious.  I  am sure it's just the stress of housework and sick kids...plus sleep deprivation, lol.  I think my aunt is coming up from Oregon and that will help too!

It's nice to finally have an answer to why she's been so sick for so long and not responded to the antibiotics we've tried.  The surgeon is top notch,so now we just wait.  Please keep us in prayer, as surgery on any toddler is risky!

Ok, sorry I rambled on so much.  I just miss everyone & can't wait for this to be done!

Thanks for letting me rant!

Always,
Robyn

We will be thinking of you.  My daughter had the same surgery when she was 15 months and then full sinus surgery 3 months later, she is 9 now.  She came through it like a trooper.  Within twentyfour hours, she was more perky and happy than she had been in months.  She also slept so much better at night.  Our pediatric surgeon said that at this age they are much more resilient and the same surgery on an adult would knock them out for days!  I know the stress you are under right now and will be saying a prayer for you and Mariah.

Robyn,
One of my sons had tubes in his ears and he did well.  he'll be 23 in July.  I had the same surgery when I was 3 years old.  She will do fine.  Our prayers are with you and that precious little girl!

Prayers on the way from Iowa.  Amy had tubes put into her ears when she was 18 months.  She kept getting one ear infection after another.  We had hardly sat down in the waiting room when they came out and said the surgery was done.

Mariah will be in our thoughts and prayers.  I had the same surgery when I was 11 years old and asked to go out to eat after we left the hospital, so I'm sure she will be just fine.  My adenoids were removed because they had swollen to the size of an elderly man's adenoids.  Now, I have had no problems since.  And can breathe much better!!  I'm sure she will come out just fine!  Don't worry she is in great hands with the surgeon.

Robyn,

Mariah will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers.  Poor baby girl.  It's so hard when they're not feeling well, let alone not even knowing why.  My daughter, Lara, will be turning one year old on March 23rd.  We will be thinking of your daughter and praying that the surgery will go well.  Hugs to you...I can understand how scary it is to have your little one go through such a serious ordeal.  But it is a good thing that her doctors have found the problem and are going to fix it.  Rays and prayers that Mariah will be feeling much, much better real soon!
