Different help organizations

This is an update to one of my post about the credit card for vet.  http://www.wienerwritings.com/forum/index.php?topic=1467.0

I contact this lady about her dog and told her that I would talk to my vet  to see if I could make payment to them so this dog could get help.  My vet informed me that she cannot preform a kidney operation and that it had to be done by a specialist.   So the option for me paying for this dog surgery is out, or i can contriute some money for it. 

I guess what my question is are there different help organizations out there that can help a person when they are down and there animal needs help?  Krista gave me the name to one, and I passed it along. Anyone know of any others?

Kathy - I don't know of any other organizations - have you done a Google search?  Maybe it will come up with something.

Please keep us updated - I would be willing to contribute some funds to the vet that does the surgery.

When I last spoke with her I gave here the names of the places Krista suggested.  I told her look in to them.  I also called two specialist and talked with them to see how much an estimate would be.  One of the specialist told me that the dog proably doesn't have a kidney stone(they usually pass), and if it did it doesn't hurt them as bad as it does a humane.  Since then I have looked into several help organization.  I went through them and picked out the names that I thought would work for her.  Well then I called her and couldn't get a hold of her.  Then tried again and again.  Well she hasn't called back.  So I have to assume it was some kind of scam.  I don't think it was a very good scam since she wasn't going to see the money because I would only pay the vet not her.  If it wasn't a scam then I sure hope her dog got the help it needed.  I want to thank Barb and RoninColumbia for wanting to help with the vet bill and Krista for the names of the site.

Sometimes it is hard to tell whether it is a real plea or not.  I, like you, would send the funds to the vet.  I pray that if it WAS a real plea, that she has gotten help for her baby.  Thanks Kathy for looking into it and caring !!!  How are you doing these days?  I know it is still tough - thinking of you

Well last night I recieved a call from Kristin the owner of the dog.  She called to say thank you for my help.  She also informed me that her dog got the necessary treatment.  I not sure if she used imom the organization that Krista passed along or what, but the most important thing is the dog is better.
