House update

Today is our inspection at the new house, and the blow-door test for the energy rating.  We might be closing next week.  Although the house is ready to be lived in, we will not move in until the guys are finished putting up the siding, meaning not until they are through banging on the side of the house (Unidentied banging nosie = balistic doxies).  Target "first night" date is March 19th.  Got the champagne chilling!

Wow Patty - it is almost time !!!  That is just so kewl !!!!  And WOW OH WOW - what a gift !!!!    I guess this is the neighbor you wanted to give a nice gift to - right?   Dang - thats hard !!!  Maybe a gift certificate for snow plowing his driveway for life ?!?!?!?!?!   I am really excited for you to get moved in....and sure don't blame you a bit to want to wait until the pounding is finished !  Are you going to be able to take some time off work to get settled in?

Yes, this is the neighbor we need to find a nice thank you gift for.  I am going to give them a nice black forest ham, and I'm going to make some oatmeal chocolate chips cookies (even if they are large men).  And don't worry, we will be taking care of their snow removal needs for as long as they live there.

Barb, yes, I will be taking some time off from work, hopefully a couple days to make an extra long weekend.  I especially want to help the dogs settle in, and get them used to being put in the laundry room when we're gone.  Do some trial runs, put them in for an hour or so while I run to Walmart, that sort of thing.  And of course I am anxious to start unpacking all the neat stuff I have collected over the years.  As my sister Barb said last night, I can finally unpack my "hopeless chest."

Isn't it amazing?  All because Dan has taken care of Bob and his son over the years, clearing their driveway, checking up on them when he hasn't seen any signs of life around the place for a while.  Bob and his son are very large men, and don't get out much.  They can't really operate the snowblower anymore.  Its brand new, not even 20 hours on it.  It also comes with a mower, a plow and a little trailer to pull behind it.  I will be able to use that for firewood collecting and manure removal.

How cool is that - to have collected all kinds of goodies over the years and you finally get to unpack....how fun !
