Well I guess 2006 isn't going to be any better than 2005 for me!  My diabetic kitty, Rado, who we had kept going for six years, passed away in his bed in the sun over the weekend.  I must say it made me feel better that he had such a peaceful passing.  Then, on Sunday, Kleine went down in her back legs again.  We rushed her to Denver and it was touch and go for awhile.  I thought this might be the end for my little girl as we won't put her through another surgery that may or may not make her better and we won't let her be in pain.  At least we have the vet now who I wish had done her surgery last May...I think she would have been ok now if only.....but can't go back in time.  Anyway, the vet upped the prednisone and put her on a pain med, tremadol, and she bounced right back and was walking by the end of the day.  It was amazing.  However, we have to keep her in the crate now for two weeks and then in the kichen for two weeks (think I can put the gate up again and not fall over it and break my ankle???) and then hopefully she will be ok, meaning back to her wobbly walk again.  She will never be perfect, but as long as she is not in pain and can get around and is happy, that is quality of life.  Will keep you all posted, but please send rays!!

Eileen I am so sorry to her about Rado and Kleines backward steps. I am glad that Rado went peacefully and that Kleine bounced back quickly. PLEASE be careful with the gate in the kitchen. Of course, if you are like me, you will find that you will cringe when you get near the gate and not even risk stepping over it. I still avoid the hill on the side of our house if at all possible! I really hope things look up for you soon.

Oh no!  I am so sorry to hear about Rado.  I'm glad he went peacefully, though.  And Kleine........I'm glad she bounced back quickly.  I guess she just needs to take it easy.  And YOU.............be careful around that dog gate!  You have had a long rough road, I hope things calm down with the coming of spring.

I am so sorry about Rado - but it is a blessing he went so peacefully - find comfort in knowing he is running without pain at the Bridge and I am sure was welcomed by many.  Sending rays that Kleine is quickly back to her wobbly walk - and is in no pain.  That is the important thing - that she is comfortable.  Watch out for YOU - no tripping - hugs and rays to you all !

I'm so sorry to heard of Rado's passing and Kleine's troubles.  Rays are on the way from Iowa.

I understand about the gate.  I hang on to the door post until I'm off the step and my feet are firmly on the concrete floor of the garage.

Eileen, I'm so sorry to hear that your beloved kitty passed away.  But what a blessing to go so peacefully.  I hope Kliene continues to improve and that you you BE CAREFUL with the gate and try to take some time out for yourself.

I'm so sorry Eileen.  You guys have had just one thing right after another.  I'm sure that your kitty is busily meeting all sorts of new friends as well as some old ones at the bridge.
Kisses to Kleine...poor baby.  It sounds like you feel good about the vet you have now so that's encouraging.  Rays and prayers for all of you !

Boy, you sure have had more than your share of bad luck lately, you deserve a break! I am so sorry about your kitty Rado. :( That is rough. I am glad he went peacefully but that doesn't help your feeling of loss. Prayers for Rado.

I cant' believe Kleine went down again too! Poor sweet baby! But thank GOODNESS she is bouncing back. Nothing is more horrific than times like these but they will amaze us. Yes, you be very careful with that baby gate. We need to keep you well to take care of the Woobies. Hang in there, lots of prayers and good thoughts coming your way.

HUGS to you and Kleine.  I hope she recovers from her back trouble--for good this time!  Also, we're sending healing rays to you.  It sounds like Rado had a peaceful gentle passing--lying in bed with the sun shining on him--just beautiful!

Sending mega-rays to Kleine.

We're sorry to hear about Rado's passing, but if you had to go, lying peacefully in the sun is definitely the way to do it.   Having been through three fairly traumatic passings with our three pupper-angels, I can only hope when it's time for Max to head to the Bridge, that his passing will be as peaceful as Rado's.
