Five Years Ago This Month!

It was 5 years ago next Sunday(Jan 29,2001) that I put my name in to adopt a female Dachshund from Dachshund Rescue of North America.Her name was Frankie and she was special in her own little way.When I saw her up for adoption the story about her nearly broke my heart.She was abandoned and tied to a door knob because her hoomans were getting a divorce.
          Then a week before Thanksgiving that year my Mom told me about one that was left in a Home Depot parking lot because the husband of the couple that had him had died and the wife didn't want him.His name was Hahns.Hahns was special to me also in his own little way;after I got him we figured out that someone must have hollered at him alot for barking because we've  never heard him bark except for at least a couple of times.
         Frankie and Hahns were about 10 years old when I got them,but at least I gave them a couple of good extra years with me.Frankie was with us until August 2003 and Hahns was with us until 2004.
               I still have 2 wonderful babies-Blusky&Manny!Yes they're both very spoiled and loved by my family.
                 I am soooooooooooo very greatful that Jill Cortus from Indiana started Dachshund Rescue of North America.I probably wouldn't have the 2 I have now if I didn't have the notion to look up things pertaining to Dachshunds when I did.

A big thanks to you for caring about these puppers needing homes.  There are SO many !!!!  I know that is the way that I will fill my pack from now on.....just wish I could take more !!!
