Zeke's has been having issues with his back.   We noticed he's been kind of ornery as of late and really couldn't figure out why.   Over the last few days, he has been yelping for no apparent reason.   We thought the problem was internal, like his pancreatitis flaring up again.   The vet checked him over and found that he definitely has a sore spot on his back.    We're treating it with rest and anti-inflammatories for the next two weeks and will re-evaluate.    If it doesn't improve, we're looking at X-rays and possibly surgery.

On the upside, his lipase levels were lower than at any other time, so his pancreas issues seem to be receding.

Spanish Teckels

Poor Zeke.  Lots of warm Spanish rays heading your way.  We hope the rest and meds put him back on his feet and that no surgical intervention is required.  Good news about his lipase levels and pancreas.

There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

Zeke did respond to the Metacam and was trying to go bounding about the house.   We need to keep him quiet, though.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.
