Patches seems to be doing better I'm slowly taking her  off her medications seems to be pain free wants to run around.I really miss her not  sleeping in the water bed with me she has alerted a couple of times when my blood sugar has been low.Buddy sleeps though anything he does not alert to anything. I still have Patches in the crate she is not liking it either she wants to sleep with mom.

It is good to know she is feeling better. Just tell her slowly does it....
Spanish Teckels, blessed to be owned by Red and Islay.

Sending rays to Patches (and mom).  I went through this with Clifford as well as him having 3 surgeries for blown discs.  I spent almost a whole year sleeping on the living room floor after C's 1st surgery so he could sleep next to me for both our sakes.  Hopefully the meds will help Patches so she doesn't go that route!!
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

If I could sleep on the floor with Patches in the crate I would but if I ever got in the floor I would never get back up. Patches off all medications for now she runs when I'm out with her have to tell her not to do that she just gives me the look. I removed her collar put all her tags on her Hug a Harness think that will be the safest way to go. I think the main thing that has helped I'm keeping her klutzy big brother Buddy (Doberman) away from her he never watches where he steps some times he stepped on me last week.Anyone know how long I should keep her in the crate ? Will she ever be able to sleep in the water bed with me again do not want to mess her up when she is doing so well. Patches Mom
