Hi Wiener Friends.  Just thought I would drop a line and say hello.  I have had a busy summer with mom taking me all over the place, back and forth to the cabin while she watches my human grandpa, etc.  I like being at the cabin, there is a really nice woodstove there that I get to sleep in front of, and I get to go outside and go potty in the leaves.  Mom and Dad are doing great, we are home now since my hu-grandpa went back to his home in AZ.  And guess what, I might be an uncle.  Mom is breeding her parakeets.....Tinkerbell and Simon....this all started October 1st with the nest box being attached and the birdies moved upstairs so they could have some peace and quiet.  Well to make a long story short, we have 3 eggs!!!  And Tinker is being a great mom so far, spending tons of time in the nest box keeping those eggs warm.  If all goes well we should see a little one around November 7.
I am going deaf and a little blind, mom says I have doggies alzheimers.  I just have to be wherever my mom is, and then I am happy.  Being an "only dog" has its ups and downs.  I sure miss my brother Willy, but since there is only one of me, I get to go places more.  Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all of you and let you know we are alive and well in Alaska.

Second time this week I thought about someone and then heard from them!  (Matt Damon Matt Damon Matt...)

Willie, you just stick with yer momma, she will always take good care of you.  Stay toasty by the stove and be nice to the birdies.  It sounds exciting!  Keep in touch!  Send pictures!

Glad to hear from you, too.  I definitely miss all the gang I met at Dee Dee's in 2001!  Remember when we were in a store, and they thought you, Noel, Maria, Amy, Dee Dee, Sandy, and I must've all known each other for years?   Mine are all currently well, and enjoying the cooler weather here - upper 40s to lower 50s at night, so I crack the sliding door open, with the screen pulled shut, and about a 3" crack for fresh air blows through our sleeping area.  You can tell Brekke likes it - last night, she and Robinton shared a doggie bed, and Rowan and Bastian shared another - even though there were four doggie beds next to mine.

Awww...great to hear from you Alex.

We're wondering if Alex is going to be a "bridge" dog, like Harry was to Willy & Alex when they were pups, linking one generation of dachsies to the next.

BonniesMom

Hi Alex! Dis is Bonnie.  I'm 14 now and guess what?  We have something in common.  I have suddenly become quite deef.  Mommy said that I used to have bionic hearing.....whatever dat means.  But now I can't hear nuttin'.  I also don't see too good because I have CATaracts in both eyes.  I KNEW the CAT was 'sponsible for every thing evil that happens......even dough I don't HAVE a cat.  I like to sleep pretty much ALL day.  I don't like to go for walkies anymore.  I do LOVE to EAT.  I like to push my kong with goodies stuffed in it.  I don't have the brain to wrap my paws around the kong so I can't get everything out of it.

Stick close to your mommy and papa. That's the best thing.  Enjoy your stove and I will enjoy my quilt that I love to burrow under.

Smooches to you!

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

Not sure about that yet.  Dan wants another little female like Misty SO bad.  And I would love it too.

Hi Patty,

Good to see you here again.

My dad asked me to tell you that your mushroom pie recipe has been received with accolades every time he has made it for friends.  thanks again for sending it.

There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.
