My sweet EmmyLou is 6 today... It seems like just yesterday she was coming home to me... She is aging well, not a gray hair in sight, lucky dog... =O)   The only worry I have is from the phenobarb for her seizures & being spayed she is putting on extra weight too fast, and she doesn't eat much... Also in February we added to our clan, an adorable little Chihuahua, Cleo- short for Cleopatra of course... And, EmmyLou was in heaven having a baby around, she loves baby anything, what a good girl she is... Happy Barkday to my EmmyLou, Missy Weenie, Fatty McPhee and any other name she goes by, it has been 6 wonderful years so far... We love you EmmyLou!!!

Happy Barkday to Miss EmmyLou!!

Tara, you might want to discuss giving her Keppra instead of the phenobarbitol.   Keppra has very few side effects and is relatively new (5 years??) so many regular vets are real aware of it.  Duncan's neurologist suggested it.  Duncan's immune system was compromised on pheno so the final meds we have been using for 10 months are Keppra with a small dose of potassium bromide (that also made him extremely food focused!).
