Reagan (Granddaughter) Turns 1!

On Wednesday, Reagan turned 1! This past weekend, we had her 1st birthday party....here are some pics of her from her party and also a pic of her first "walking" shoes which her Mom and her went shopping for on Thursday.....




She is one of the many joys in our lives and I love being a Grammie!

I can't believe a year has gone by already.  Reagan is such a gorgeous  little girl, that smile is wonderful, she certainly deserved her cake and looks so cute and totally engrossed by it.

She is so cute - how do you stand it? (Okay, so I always have a really soft spot for cutie patooties!)  Reagan certainly enjoys her cake, doesn't she?   
Do you think she'll have a shoe fetish?  (I stopped counting long ago, but I will admit to taking over 12 pairs to Goodwill, and some were hardly worn...)

Julia, we have a really great advantage and that is that during the school year, we watch Reagan Monday through Friday while her Mom and Dad are working.  Cassie is teaching 2nd grade this coming school year (last school year, she had kindergarten) and Sean teaches World History, Economics and English at the high school level.  Dave and I are her day care and have been since last September, 2011.  It seems really odd that during the summer months, she isn't here every weekday but she does come and stay with us at least 1-2 times a week.  She is a doll and we have a very special bond between grandparent/grandchild.  I love it!  And, yes, she did love her cake!  She really loves her new shoes......so she may have a shoe fetish.  She will leave her new shoes on......others that she would wear prior to the new walking shoes, she would pull off her feet and go barefoot!  dee

I had forgotten that Cassie was an elementary grade teacher - second is such a good grade (since I taught it for 28 years - more than any other grade level).  Reagan will certainly get a good education with two parents teaching - not to mention the wonderfulness of grandparent day care!  I was also lucky, spending one week with my dad's parents, and the next with my mother's, since my dad was finishing college after his two Navy stints [WW2 and Korean], and my mom was working as a secretary.
