Found out something from my DIL my son bought her engagement ring all by himself then after the were married for about a year I asked her where her rings were. She told me since they were white gold they have to be sent off by the jewelry store to be re-dipped or they look tarnished. Well I asked my sister she has white gold rings but was married about 45 years ago she told me she never had her rings dipped.I got nosy called a jewelry store asked them they said about 20 years ago they started mixing the white gold with other metals so every since then white gold has to be re-dipped every so often to make it look nice. I have yellow gold rings they did not change the formula for yellow gold just the white gold.Of course platinum supposed to be un-changed along with the sterling sliver no change. I think that is the pits about the white gold so if anyone buys white gold I would be asking if it needs re-dipping that gets expensive after while.
By the way the dachshund necklace is very cute.Papbouv
