My mama took me to our friend who is a vet.   I DO NOT like that guy, so he isn't our regular vet.  He talks kinda loud and moves fast, so he freaks me out.   Anyway, I was carried into his office (I drag my paws if mama doesn't carry me!)  Then Dr. Paul had me lay down on the table.  Mama got me to do the belly rub position and den dey started poking me.  Sheesh mudder, didn't ya poke me enough this morning?!  Then he says, "Hmm, that does feel odd, but its right where his sternum ends, so it is probably part of his boney structures." Then I couldn't hold my breath any longer and he felt it move.   He started laughing and laughing.  "Um...Dude, why is it so funny that you are poking me and then I breathe?!"  Humans are so strange!     Then he explained to my mom that it was part of my diaphragm and she never felt it before because I was never this thin.   Then he told on me!!!  Dr. Paul said, "The reason it felt like a lump and not a diaphragm, is because the stinker was holding his breath and pushing it out."   I can't get away with anything with this guy around!!   :BangHead: Doesn't he know, I was playing pathetic for those extra treats?!    Anyway...it was decided that my mudder is silly.  Dr. Paul thought it was so funny, he only charged $20 to check me out.   And he said he sent a documentation of what he found to our regular vet Dr. Bill. He even wrote, "dog likes to hold breath when nervous."  Me??? Nervous??  Nu-uh!!!  I just shake cause I know it makes the humans swoon.

P.S. The canned food stuff is so tasty, but my mama didn't like how I eat it so she said I get one spoonful at a time.  There has to be an abuse clause about that somewhere!

P.P.S.  Mama says to tell you, apparently I'm feeling better because we had some killings in our house yesterday.  3 dead socks, 2 dead underwear, 1 dead and unidentified Bobo.  She doesn't know I got that Bobo from the grandma lady and I hid it under the bed.  His dental records may be used to notify his next of kin.   Mama would have never found my stash if I wouldn't have ran into her in the hallway with a piece of fabric in my mouth.   OOPS!!  I live in a dictatorship, so I was immediately imprisoned while the investigation ensued.

I am trying to get him to eat as much of the canned food as possible today.  So far, his belly is stuffed after 1/4 can, so we are working slowly to get him re-adjusted to food. I am to feed him whenever he decides he is ready for more.  Before all this, he would eat anytime, anywhere, so this not having a good appetite is a new, odd thing.  We are hoping to have him eating a whole can each day, by Wednesday.   Now that he is on the canned food, he should start gaining a bit back.  The recommended amount on the can is 3/4 of a can per day, but our vet said to do 1 whole can until Porky gains some of the weight back, or until Porky is back on kibble, whichever comes first.

What fantastic news that Porky is doing so much better!!! Momma, don't worry too much about his being "off his feed" right now, though. He's been on subsistence rations for a good while now thanks to all of the trauma to his mouth, and his stomach will have shrunk. He'll soon be back to normal in being ravenous (according to him) all the time! Way to go, Porky!! We've all been worried about you, and we're ecstatic to hear that you're doing so much better!   :thumb:
