Ponies

I got to visit with some pretty ponies while my Mom took pictures of them. Their breath smelled so good I could have rolled in it! Our friends were performing at the Pet Expo with their Friesians and Andalusians. :thumb: The white guy is Alejandro and the black guy is Ruben.

I root for the grays, too, Kathleen - especially the dapples! (And I found out this year I share that with my dear, departed dad - he sure kept that quiet!)

DeeDee - this year, the Lippizaners came earlier, and had two shows - Brenda and I were in the second row, down on the floor - talk about C L O S E ! They had a black Friesian with a wavy mane and tail nicknamed "Elvis", who likes to perform to Big Band music. I'm sure you can imagine what the announcer said when Elvis was finished and had exited!

great photos Dee Dee, and glad to see your technical assistant is on the ball. Stunning manes, so is Ruben bare footed. I would love to be rich enough to own a Friesian for harness work. Both are stunners.

I looked at the pics and you are right, all of the horses are barefoot. I'll have to ask her why that is. They put on a great show, lay down, rear, bow, spanish walk, dressage movements, etc. Four black horses (Friesians) and 2 gray Andalusians.

Julia isn't that the most awesome show! We went 3 times last year they had Elvis then too. Got some incredible shots just haven't had time to paint any yet!

Hallie amazes me all the time, even with her blindness she trusts me, we can walk by a fence with a bunch of big barking dogs chasing us along and she doesn't even turn her head toward them. (happened at a photo shoot the other day with bernese mt dogs, sweet dogs but were excited and charging along the fence making a ruckus I was upset with myself for a minute that I put her in that situation I'm so careful she doesn't get scared, but it didn't phase her). So it made me feel good she can still sniff horsie nosies and not worry her.

Dee Dee the big boys are bare footed but if you compete at the Royals (shows) they have to be, and somwtimes if they work a lot on tarmac.

Ah, ok well these guys are pretty much always on softer ground I'll bet maybe they shoe them for parades or something...

Well, of course, silly DeeDee, Hallie is fluent in Bark, her native language. :thumb: She can tell when a Berner is saying, "Ooo, ooo, I'm behind ze fence, little vienerschnitzel, und I vant to play mit you!!!!!" She's still the Queen and one mussn't acknowledge the peasantry!

As for Alejandro? His take: "Hmmm. I leave poops larger than you, missy."

Ruben: "Do they make strollers like this in Friesian size?" :thinik:
