I posted this on Facebook last night but I though I'd share here, too, for the ones not on FB.

I don't like to talk about work on this board but I have to tell you what happened at work today. I am a nurse in a newborn nursery. The labor and delivery nurse brought a baby in to be admitted and while she was giving us report, she says the mom has "pups!" I said, "Pups!! Did she have a litter?" She laughed, said no and explained. She ended it with, "If the baby barks, let me know." I said, "If she barks, I'm taking her home!"

Love it, Delia......made me smile this morning!  We went over to Cassie and Sean's house last night, and Baby Girl was playing soccer in her Mommy's tummy.  She was an active little girl last night.....not only kicking Mommy but also punching with her hands!  Guess she was doing high fives, when she scored a goal!

We are getting pretty excited!  Have her room at our house all ready since we are going to be day care when Mom and Dad are working.  Baby Girl is due to arrive around August 19.  Cassie had been exposed to Fifths Disease (from one of the elementary school students where she was subbing) so she is now going in weekly for ultrasounds until at least mid-July.  So far, all is good and Baby Girl is doing just fine.

Getting close!!! What' Fifths Disease?

It is a rash that is contagious.  Comes in the family of chicken pox and is a red rash that is quite itchy and usually affects the face, arms and legs.  No real treatment, it goes away after a week or so and if super itchy, Benedryl is recommended.  If a pregnant woman becomes exposed to it and is in her first trimester, there is the possibility of miscarriage.  Cassie was in her second trimester so there wasn't the possibility of miscarriage.  However, the reason for the weekly intensive ultrasounds is to check Baby Girl to ensure that she doesn't become anemic (sp?).
