Cheryl, I've notified Stacey who runs Foxy Doxy Dachshund Rescue, working out of Atascadero about these sweeties.  She pulls dachsies out of Kern Co. shelters on a regular basis.

Sigh!  A cream - thought they were in big demand!  If I didn't already have my limit, I'd be so tempted - Kern is my county.  I have rescued one, and technically my newer two, because they had no fenced yard, and irregular attention from their teen owners, who were with their mom every other week and were involved in lots of sports after school.

Oooh sounds like you guys are gettin' something done! That's great! I look all through their available dogs on their site, and couldn't find them, hopefully that means someone came and got them?

I have not heard if anyone has rescued them or not but that could be a good sign.  There are a couple really good doxie rescue groups in California and our Region 3 Coordinator lives there and she knows a lot of people to crosspost to.  Sometimes it takes awhile for me to hear back....I will absolutely let you know if I hear anything!!!
