Happy Gotcha Day Toby River !

Two years ago today, Toby came home.

He was found tied to a tree with a piece of wire.  He was rescued by Aunt Cookie, Tonya's aunt and WAS going to be a GCDR foster.....that lasted....well, it didn't !  As soon as I saw him, I knew he belonged with us.  Andrea fostered him for several weeks until I was able to go visit her and pick him up.  He was a trial for sure...he killed a plant she had had forever. He chewed up curtains, destuffed toys.....

LOL - on the ride home, he had chewed the seat belt, his harness and pulled a blanket through the wire crate and chewed on it.....all within 20 minutes of leaving Andrea's house - EEEK !  We had some rough times - Rudy was very upset that he came. Brandy and Toby had a few altercations, but soon Toby was Brandy's slave.  He still dotes on her !!!

Rudy and Toby have settled their differences and I actually find them sleeping by each other quite often.  It has truly been a learning experience for me - it had been so long since adding anyone to our pack.

Toby is our comic relief, the wild child, my protector, my heating pad at night.  I love him to pieces and am thrilled he is part of our family.


Each morning before going to work, after everyone else is in their place...I tell Toby "Toby, it's your turn!"  He runs up the ramp to the big bed and comes to the edge where I am and flips over on his back.  I then carry him like a baby down the hall to the living room and put him in his pen.  This morning I told him "Look how far we have come honey...I love you so much !"  And I do

Oops - sorry we missed your Gotcha Day, Toby!  Momma has been soooooo busy finishing up school stuff for Christmas vacation, and she directed the Christmas program at school Tuesday night, so we haven't even begun to get our fair share of attention this week!
