I'll be picking up my first foster tomorrow.  Please wish me luck, I'll need all that I can muster.  I can't adopt her, I already have 5, but she deserves to have a good life and I want to show her that there are still good people in this world.  Her name is Sadie, and I promise to post pics when I pick her up.

Oh BLESS YOU!!!  Do let us know how it goes.  And be sure to tell us all about Sadie.  Do you know her story?  GOOD FOR YOU! :thumb:

fostering is a reward unto itself. There is nothing I regret about my fostering or rescue work.

I could say so many things about fostering....just remember...that baby is only there until your group finds it a new home.

I know.  I keep repeating this to myself every minute.  I know I'll get attached to her and cry when she goes, but I hope to be able to help find a most wonderful forever home for her.  I'll be very picky, though...

Here are some pictures of Sadie.  She's very skittish.  Was used for breeding, and had never lived inside before.  She's afraid of man, so my husband is having a hard time, he wants to get her on his lap so bad... She only weighs about 7.9 lbs.  I told my husband she's 1/2 dog, LOL.  She's so small, even compared with my little ones, Jewels and Pixie.

You are an angel! Sadie is a doll I love the belly up pictures of her. Can't wait to see photos of her with your crew.  :thumb:

My husband is a very loving person, and has managed to get Sadie to trust him.  I've posted more pictures on the album.

As for interacting with my crew, she's not very sociable with the other dogs, but is a velcro dog with me.  She avoids going outside.  I think she's afraid we'll keep her there again, poor baby.  We'll get her to trust people again...

How is the foster?  or did I miss a post?

vferraro99

No,  you did not miss a post, Ed.  She is doing fine, and if I go by my husband's wishes she'll no longer be a foster.  I'm giving it time, though... for her to warm herself even more into my heart, that is.  She's a cutie.  I'll take pics this weekend and post them.

Don't do it.

Find her a GOOD  home then start over with another dog that is in desperate need of your help.

After you've fostered 3 or 4 you'll start to understand.

Don't worry, I won't, although it will be one of the hardest things I've ever done.  I know my limits, and I do want to help our rescue and foster more for them.  There's a senior there that I want to foster so bad I can taste it.  I can't wait for Sadie to be adopted...
