Roberta

Nothing or no one will ever take her place, she was Emma.
For the new ones on the board Emma was allegic from about 6 mpnths, and as I work in human pathology realised she was hypothyroid early on. At 2-3yrs she had her first bout of pancreatistis. Her allegies  to  grass and a lot of contact allegens we tried desensitization to with  no help,  so we did try cyclic antihitamines, rotation of about 6 which gave no help. pregnisalone was the only repreive. we used it in bursts when she was bad and kept her out of north winds, cut grass etc, but at 8 she was a diabetic with cataracts, we took her to an eye dr,  and he did a lot of tests but we would have gained her 3-6months as she had retanopathy. I would say she lost total sight just recently. Then at 12 was biten by a paralytic tick, she fought it, that was what he Bowen therapy helped her back right leg that was weakened.
The whole of this is to say do not give up ever on these guys they have the courage we lack, Sunday was a fight she or us could not fight, but even then Ray who has known her from 12 weeks checked and probed for a day, to say finally we had hit end game. Nick has taken it worse than me I think as she was his little girlie, her memory and life will go on in the other two.

What an amazing, and blessed life she had. I knew she had some health problems but didn't realize to this extent. Her long happy life is great testiment to the love and care you and Nick have given her. I know she will be missed and loved forever. Yet....what a privilege to have had her. You said it all:

To not have loved  is worse than losing someone near........

That is a tough one sometimes but in the end, it is so true. Prayers still coming to you and Nick.

Roberta, Emma could not have had a better life.  You and Nick loved and cared for her so much and so well.  She is happy and healthy now and is looking down on you and her doxie siblings she left behind.  Bless you for giving her the wonderful and happy life that she lived.  Hugs to you!
