Is anyone else keeping up with this? The rescue started last night and I have been glued to the tv.... and Live video via the Internet today. #17 or #18 just came up (not sure - went to lunch and might have missed one).

69 days, 2300 feet down, 33 miners... ALL alive and one by one coming to the surface.

Pretty darn amazing...and emotional.... I have cried each time one came up.....

If you haven't been watching - well worth tuning in - the rescue set up has worked like clockword thus far....

Watched the first miner come up last night and have been following it all day today.  When the capsule first went down the shaft for the irst rescue it reminded me of the lunar lander making contact the first time.

I just think this whole thing is absolutely amazing.  Kudos to everyone involved in the rescue effort all these months.  And those miners for being so mentally strong to survive it!

SRSLY I am watching now as they get the LAST one!

I watched most of the day yesterday myself. It was great seeing the last one come out. I was also impressed to see the Chilean President and First Lady at the rescue site greeting each miner as they were brought up. I read that the President had taken a very short break early on, but that was it. I just read that three of the miners were sent home from the hospital today, many more will follow tomorrow and all should be released by Sunday. So amazing after such a long time underground. Now, we just have to hope and pray that the media will respect their wishes and give them the space they need to reconnect with their families and adjust to being home again.
