I currently have a longhair black/tan standard who is national obediance champion(the highest level in obediance compitions put on by AKC. My other 2 are short haired black/tan mini's. they are both have their Utility dog titel. theat is one level under the highest  level. I am curious as to find out if any other dachshunds on here compete in obediance compitions and if so how far have they gotten in it. :thinik:
pit bulls are awesome service dogs. i know 30 of them. dachshunds make awesome service dogs too. my coty is living proof. he is a freaking super wonder dog.

Dee Dee and Hallie

Your babies are adorable! Congrats on the titles, do you mean your doxie has and OTCH? My standard longhaired red girl that has since passed was #1 hound group in the US in obedience, she had 44 OTCH points with multiple all breed HITs, then she had a back issue so I immediately retired her. She also had her Canadian and UKC CDX's at that point.

My current little girl, Hallie, also a longhaired black and tan like yours only she's a mini (at least right now she is as we're fighting her being a bit underweight) has her CD, RN, CGC and to the best of our knowledge is the first doxie at least in this area, with a BH (Schutzhund title. No jumping or bitework for the BH). Here is a video of her first time in the novice ring (first leg) if you'd like to see.

Because of worry of back problems I opted not to go past the first levels as I wont jump her, it's not worth the risk. I wish I had known that with my first girl. Jessie, my first, was show bred, my current Hallie came from an animal shelter so only has an ILP and wasn't allowed to compete in all events.

I compete in both the uk and the us. I have some mental dissabilities wich include bi-polar, mild autism, and dyslexia. I often get the names of what my dogs have confused. I do know Coty has the highest possible title in obediance, tracking, confermation, and earthdog. my shorthairs only have their utility dog tital. they are working on their first level of tracking and earth dog
