I got to thinking about Amy's poem about wanting a dog, so at home over lunch hour, I got into her scrapbook and found the poem.  She was 7 or 8 when she wrote it.  Below the poem is her drawing of a girl sitting in a chair with tears on her face.  She also drew a girl hugging a dog, and a girl walking a dog.  Here is the poem, in her words and spelling:

I Want A Dog

I want a dog to love and care.
I wish my chances could be fair.
But my Dad's allergic to the fur.
I wish a miricle would occur.
A Gearman Shepherd or a mutt.
There is a sad feeling in my gut.
I need a friend to love and care.
It's just too sad it isn't there.

Luke Skywalker:  "I, I don't believe it!"  Yoda:  "That is why you fail."

Awwwwww. That is one of the sweetest things I've read in a long time.  Probably since my Meghan was about 7 or 8 and was wishing for a dog of her own too.

Thanks for sharing that.
