Today I am going to a photo shoot down town to hopefully get my piccie in Dog Fancy magazine. So my Mom decided to cover my sparklies (gray she calls it I'm not gray!) in my tan thumbprints above my eyes and on my tan facie. She couldn't find any kind of dye that would be safe to use on my face so she got some food coloring...but all she could find was a kit with neon green, blue, red and yellow. She figgers, red and yellow make orange and it's a sort of transparent medium that food dye so it should look like my tan right? Wrong Mommy!!!! Neon red and Neon yellow makes Neon ORANGE! So there I sit all radiantly colored and Mommy desperately scrubbing my lil face trying to get off the traffic light colors...sigh. But the worst is she is laffing at me sort of a nervous laff but a laff none the less. Dr Leaky I need a therapist either for me or my mom I don't care which but one of us has to have one! OK I'm out of hair and makeup now, we're on our way to see what more humiliation she can do to me downtown in front of the other lady who is my stand in mommy because of course MY mommy won't get in front of the camera and she doesn't even have neon hair!

BTW, if you still have time, try cherrybrook.com.  Under show equipment, they have dyes and chalks, mostly for poodles, but you should find an appropriate red there that is dog safe.

Kathleen that is PERFECT!! I had searched high and low for a good safe dye for around her eyes and had no luck at all. The color stick sounds exactly like what I wanted thank you so much, not in time for this shoot today but will definitely have plenty of other opportunities to use it. I'm psyched! I just ordered, and ok well the order may have grown a bit because of course Hallie needed a new toy, treats, nail trimmers, shampoo and toothbrush too...

LOL Les I don't think anything can top the time you were trying to talk me into lighting a rocket detonator exploding device thingie. And me out there giving it the ol' college try!  Good thing we had Daveand Dee to bring us to our senses!
Well ya know my ol' eyes aren't what they used to be and when I was applying the red first it seemed to look OK...but then when I added yellow it made it very apparent how bright the red was I swear she was glowing. Coulda picked her out of a herd of fireflies. We got the photos done but it is dark and overcast here and it was supposed to be a sunny happy outing we were shooting...I do love the cool weather but not so good for photos of a black pupper dawg.

:meme: This is NORAD reporting an unidentified glowing object picked up on radar over northeast Washington state!  Could be incoming North Korean sleeper cell Shi Tzus trying to infiltrate!! :crazyeyes: (Left over from the China days.  NK got them on close-out sale.)

Recommend we go to DEFCON1 until the potentially radioactive infiltrator is located and neutralized.

    That's too funny.  Poor Hallie!!   I remember the rocket detonator story too.  We are all allowed at least one silly thing every few years.

I try not to visit Cherrybrook too often.  I LOVE show leads, and I've spent a lot of money on leads through the last two years.  But, I need to get a leave in conditioner by Chris Christiansen pretty soon, and Cherrybrook is where I'll go for it....and spend plenty on other stuff while I'm there.

Oh no I missed the show leads! Gonna have to go back. I have a nice one, braided leather with blue and silver beads, someone made for me in trade for taking photos of her dog. I love show leads too.

Well I have some photos from today but after scrubbing the majority of the neon out of her hair. It's still stained on my fingers from that though if anyone would like to see! Here are a few of the "real" shots.

As usual, Hallie photographs beautifully - but I get the feeling she doesn't like calla lilies!  Oh, and your friend makes a good substitute mom.

She's not looking at the hallie-lilies because she is keeping an eye on the real mom, I could run off and leave her you know! I do that so often.  She used to love to have other people hold her but now she will fuss and reach her little paws out to me sigh.
We did this shoot because Dog Fancy is doing an article on the top 10 dog friendly cities and Salem, OR is one of them, so we were supposed to make it look like a lady and her dog enjoying the town. Even though this isn't Salem...(shhhh!  )
