Dis is Porky Pie and I am finally home fwom my "bacation" at da animal hospital.   I didn't sleep bery good dere, but I ate good and got to snuggle wif my fwiend Honey.    She's a King Charles doggie and is my neighbor.   Her mommy lefted her behind too.  I am making my mama feel guilty for leabing me acuz I'm crying a lot and I just wanna sleep. I'm so tired now, so I'll let mama finish for me.

  Porky Pie

I'm so happy to have our little guy home after 6 days on vacation.  Our vacation was lots of fun and I had a blast playing with my cousins Evan, Amelia, Lillie, and Tanner.  Amelia and Evan are from North Dakota so we only get to see them every 2 years.  Evan is 2 1/2 now and Amelia is almost 5.    I was impressed with how intelligent they both are.  Evan walked around all morning Monday flapping his wings and asking everyone if they were going to fly to "Zona" (Arizona) with his Uncle Sam.     :2funny:   I think Evan was a little disappointed when he didn't get to go on the plane.

Porky is a totally different dog since we have come home.  He's pretty sleepy and on edge about every little noise.  I'm hoping once he has a day or 2 to settle back into his routine he'll calm down.  He nearly jumped out of the vet tech's arms when he saw us.  Since we got home though, he is whining a lot more than usual and very jumpy.  He doesn't even want to sleep in my lap!!  We are giving him his space today and keeping the apartment as quiet as possible so he can get some sleep.  They said he would try to sleep there, but as soon as he heard any noise he would jump up and get nervous about it.    They even tried putting him in with the kitties to see if that would be less scary for him.  Nothing helped him sleep better.    He did eat well and did not have even one accident in his kennel.   :apls:   He's never been boarded before so I'm sure he felt like we left him forever.    They said he loved playtime outside, but would spend parts of it standing by the fence looking for us.  Overall though, they said he did great while we were gone.   Once he found his friend Honey, he calmed down a lot.

Welcome home, everyone!  Porky, I hope a couple days back in familiar surroundings will have you back to your normal adorable self!  (Not that you're not adorable right now...)

Good to hear you are home and that you eventually found a friend in jail. Porky sounds like Oliver he stresses in unusual circumstances, and they ususally tell us to come and pick him up ASAP if we leave him at the vets. Madam just sleeps.

Schatzi doesn't sleep the best, but will rest. Of course, she is always boarded with Molly in the same run or same room and that helps. They have also had our permission to give her a small amount of valium or something similar orally if needed to calm her down. They have only had to do that once or twice and usually only the first evening. It makes a world of difference and takes away some of the anxiety. I'm sure Porky has settled back down and realized he is home to stay for awhile.

Glad you had a good time and are home again! That breaks my heart for poor Porky, it can be so traumatic for them, I'm sure he'll be back to himself soon he's probably just exhausted from not enough sleep.  :comfort:
