Best invention since sliced bread

Eversince the ramp was installed on the back porch I've been watching how the boys go down in every kind of weather.  Well, it snowed a bit just after Thanksgiving and Sam slipped a couple of times(don't worry Dee Dee he's fine) and I knew I had to find something to prevent a slip and fall by either the furkids or their klutzy mom.  So after surfing the net and visiting Home Depot and Lowes I finally found something - it's called an Ice Carpet.

The Ice Carpet is a 10 foot long runner made of natural fiber and backed with a nonslip material.  You are suppose to put it over the ice and snow on steps and walkways, but I had other plans for it.  One day last week it was nice an I unrolled the 2 Ice Carpets(2 covers the entire ramp when put Side e by side) from the backdoor down to the grass.  They fit just under the door sill and are now secured by bricks and go all the way out to a foot onto the lawn, where it is secured by a pile of snow.  Eddie took to it immediately and goes down like a pro.  Sam on the other hand was skeptical at first and refused to go down it, but now he goes down it during the day and when I stand on the porch with him.  I think he's still not sure of it yet.  The only problem is that I'm not sure about using it myself(I fall on flat sidewalks) so I'll just use the front door.

As I said before this is great and well worth the $$$ spent on it.

Sounds like a good product to keep in mind.  I think something like that would be great on our deck when we get those freezing rains.

I'm glad Sam is ok but I'll bet it put Mom's heart through a workout! :) That sounds like a great product Marcia! We don't get as much snow as you but when we do, Hallie's ramp also gets icy and slick. I'm going to look it up thanks! And you guys be careful out there!

Sounds perfect for our front walkway......I have  couple of runners of carpet I usually put out there when we get ice - but this sounds perfect - thx for the tip !
