That sounds like the Zs, except they tend to be a bit more equitable.  It just takes time for them to settle it out.   Zeke will burrow himself in, then Zora starts to burrow and undoes Zeke's blanket, and back and forth.  Zeke finally learned to tuck the blanket under him so his weight holds it down.  The only problem is come morning, he is trapped underneath his own blanket and I have to free him.

Bonnie is our blankie tucker.  She can really roll herself in the blankie nice and tight.  Fact is, we have to unroll her sometimes because she gets stuck underneath.   :idiot:  Dolly loved to burrow.  Maddie likes it, too but Bonnie is the bundle up blankie queen.

Both mine hog the blankies in da big bed too!  And sometimes Zoe sleeps between both of her daddy's pillows!!!

:thumb: Personally, I think it's why dachshunds are so pig-headed and untrainable.  They spend all their time under blankets with no oxygen!

I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

The only thing Fin hogs is my lap, nothing but him is allowed on it. Which includes his mortal enemy, the laptop.

Judy goes inside my pillow case on top of the pillow or she goes deep and hogs Ken's knee pillow.  We have to mover her to get into bed.  However; she then wants to sleep on the outside of the bed.  From time to team she lands on the floor in the middle of the night when someone rolls over and she bounces out

Dottie goes to the middle of the bed, between our feet and never moves all night.

Patches is also in the middle between us, near the middle.  Unless he gets hot and then he will crawl out and slepp between the pillows.

All are burrowers and we have a large pile of fleecies on the sofa, the recliner chairs and the dog beds...take your choice

We hab our own house wiff crates inside.  We each have our own blankies and don't have to share.  We WANT to sleep in da big bed but we are not 'llowed.  Sometimes we hab happy nappy there, and Loki burrows, and Zuzu snoozes next to mom.

Oh my yes! Basil LOVES to nest!  It never gets boring watching him use his long snoot to root around and wrap the blanket around him.

Mr. Wilson is a champion blanket roller, it doesn't matter how the blanket is laying, he's got his "roll & twirl" technique down pat.

Ms. Lucy on the other hand. she'll sit and whine until I cover her up if she can't get under the blanket like she wants too.

Guess Miss Lucy & Patches have us Mommies trained well.

JetEd73

Well I guess I am both mother and father to my babies.

All of mine are blankie hoggers!  As friends have said to us....."Your furkids have more blankets, than Carter's have pills!"   They have five beds around the house and about a dozen blankets....all fleece with the exception of two!  Spoiled???????????   Nah!!  And, they also have me well trained, should they need help getting under the pile........which does happen on occasion especially if all three are on the same bed!

Earl is doing great......he is a little livewire though.  Sometimes, he irritates his brothers because he is so full of energy from the moment he wakes up in the morning until he goes to bed.  Sarge and Duggie are slow to get up in the morning...they like to lounge but not Earl!  They all sleep together and play together.  Sarge plays on his terms and Earl respects him.  Duggie plays a lot with Earl but when he has had enough he lets him know.  They all play tug-0-war with the toys and Earl always loses to the other two.  When he does, he stands back and barks at them....his way of a pout.

He goes in on the 9th of February to be neutered.  I'll be glad when that task is done.  He may not be happy about that...but we are.  He has been with us for close to 3 months now.  And, he is a real lover and snuggler but can be a "little pill"!  He truly loves his two brothers and follows them everywhere.   And, we can leave the house and not come home to a house that looks like the three partied hardy!  I had been gating him in the kitchen just for that reason ...... but he learned to climb the TALL gate we had put up. We came home one day from having lunch out and there were three dogs in the window when there should have only been two!  Sarge and Duggie are fine to leave alone but Earl managed to turn the house into turmoil....their beds turned upside down and in the middle of the room, the blankies scattered all over and every toy they own out and scattered all over.  I still dog proof some of the areas which includes doors to all rooms shut so they only have access to the dining room/kitchen area.  But, as time goes on, his separation anxiety is easing greatly with each time we are both gone.

Thanks for asking about him, Sandy!

Oh the joys of a wild child!  So glad he has found a wonderful home.

Roberta

Sounds as if blankie hogging is the least of your worries! But what would life be without him. Amy is our "NOT MORNING PERSON......MUM" Oliver is our live wire, as his auntie Janey comes early for walks.

Roberta, our life would be quiet without Earl......ha ha!  He has managed to find his way into everyone's hearts so they forgive his wild child side!  It's fun to watch him....when someone comes over, he does his little routine of being such a sweet boy, giving them the l@@k and using his paw to nudge them.....once he gets the person to a certain point, he turns into the wild child.  The look on people's faces, of his change of manner, is worth everything!  Then he goes back to the shy dog!   He has made our lives very interesting and lively.....for all of us, hoomans and puppers!  But, we all love the little goober and wouldn't trade him for anything!

How can you resist this face??

I could NEVER, EVER make this arrangment in my house, even though I love the idea.   I used to cover the crates with blankies to keep the dogs warm inside in the winter, and had to stop.  Both girls grab anything within reach and drag it into the crate with them.  I'd have a broken potted plant and glass piece all over my floor and that beautiful covering would be shredded inside the crates!
