Lately Danni has become more vocal, but really not that much.   One thing I have noticed however is that when she is walking around with her treat stick in her mouth she vocalizes.  The first time she did it she was teething something fierce and that the stick was hurting her mouth, but now she does it every time.  I keep checking her mouth for problems, but there never is anything.  It sounds like she's whining or whimpering, but only happens when she's walking around and not chewing.  Could she be warning the cats to stay away?  Don't know but it sure sounds cute.

I'm not sure whats going on with Danni but...

Ms. Lucy is a whiner, but she has different whines that mean different things. She's got a whine that means, "whats going on", one for "pet me", one for "feed me", one for "its time for a walk". Your job with Danni is to figure out what the different vocalizations mean. Danni is litterally talking to you.

Parker barks just once if he wants you to throw the ball. Then he nudges you, and then nudges the ball. We have got the barking under control when guests arrive, but sometimes he has to be reminded "no barking", before he will stop. He also will bark once, and drop his dish at your feet, I think that means he's hungry, or thirsty  :thinik:
He only whines when we are not doing what we are told, or ignoring him.

Porky and Bandit are both BIG talkers.  They have little grunts for different things, and whine or bark when they need something.  Bandit is by far more vocal than Porky as he loves to bark.  I am glad to hear it though, when we first rescued him he was terrifed to make a sound, we slowly got him into making noise when he needed something.  Now, he sounds the alarm anytime something is amiss, someone walks by the house, etc.   :doah:  I would rather have that than his quiet like before.

If we take up too much room in the big bed, Porky will kick us and making a little grunting noise until we move, then he lets out a contented sigh.  Makes me laugh everytime.   :2funny:

Dee Dee and Hallie

Hallie's not a big talker either but when someone comes over and gives her a big biscuit, she will carry it around the house looking for a place to hide it, and she is crying the whole time. It's almost like she's trying to hide a puppy. She will dig in a corner and tuck it down into her babies or under a blanket, then she turns and sees us watching her (and laffing at her!) and she gets this look like DANG they saw where I put it, then off to another spot. I don't know how long she would do this because I stop it as some point to give her a break (and break a chunk off so she can eat it).

Winston is similar.   Winston believes in hiding his chews and cookies for later, and he'll wander around the yard looking for a spot.  He'll spend time burying it, and we have to make sure we're not looking.  If he catches us watching him, he unburies it and wanders again-he can go for hours.   However, he does not whine while he's doing it.

My Max is bit talker too, especially when begging for his fav treat, the frozen Kong filled with peanut butter.

Fin does that too!!!! Only just to my boyfriend! He sleeps between us with his back against me and kicks and grunts at his dad if he gets too close. He also grunts when he scratches and barks at EVERYTHING!
