My old man is a hoarder, chewies under table 4-5 at a time. Whenever I give chewies I give them to my old man Otto and the younger guy Hugo. Otto will take his and hide it and then come back and bully Hugo out of his treat. It doesn't matter if Otto has 3 sitting right next to him he wants whatever the little guy has. At first the little guy would drop and walk away, now he is starting to defend himself and I am worried that they will hurt each other. Any ideas on how to stop this from getting worse? It's not just with treats, its with anything edible. I am at the point where I have to sit on the couch and feed the little guy.

When our senior Oscar was with us, he used to eat his meals in the other room with the door closed so that he could take his time without the other 3 vultures circling.  Maybe Otto or Hugo could just eat in the other room with the door closed.

Tried the other room thing, hugo won't eat in seperate room he just stands there looking sad, wants me to pet him, otto cried when he is done and wants out, scaring the little one into not eating

squirt bottle the food thief.

get a water bottle/squirt bottle and when the theif starts to act water his azz down. Alternatively you can just stand over the crew while they eat and stop the act before it starts. As soon as the culprit starts looking at the treat/food...discourage the act

I agree with JetEd73 also look up NILF Dog training work both of them separately using this method teaches them you are the boss.If I see mine are doing something I do not want them to do I never let it happen again.I'm the boss and they know it except when they get in the trash I never see it so I cannot correct them.Last time we left Buddy loose  I just put all the little trash containers in the bath tub Patches is always crated too much difference in size.Good Luck

Yeah, spraying water to interrupt them really works. Your can follow a firm "No"..

Or a Dog Whisper move of the "tsh" noise with a poke to the ribs to interupt the behaviour.

Otto needs to learn YOU are the boss. Make him sit and WAIT for the food bowl.  Make him sit and WAIT for each and every treat.  We do this for Loki, even though we don't nee to do it with Zuzu--that's just the differnece between the two kids.  Loki is not food agressive, but she needs to be calm before getting her food!  Nip this thing in the bud.

Ha. Ha. Ha. Why am I not laughing?
