Willy, Alex and Misty get frozen, stuffed marrow bones for a treat and it keeps them busy for a while.  I bought three hollowed out marrow bones that are about 3.5 inches long, with an opening of at least one inch in diameter.  I line the inside with some peanut butter, then place the bones standing up in a bowl or some kind of container that will keep them upright in the freezer.  I then stuff the bones with cottage cheese, a little dry dog food, more cottage cheese, and then I freeze them for at least 24 hours.  You can also fill with cottage cheese and tuck a small Milk Bone or something inside.  Use your imagination.

Excellent idea! I was going to try this with yogurt but haven't gotten around to it yet. Where do you find the hollowed out marrow bones?

I layer mine with cottage cheese, low fat yogurt and peanut butter then sometimes I put Mother Hubbards treats in them also. I also use this for my Kongs.

Great idea! We'll have to try that. When you give them those treats do you feed them less at their normal meals?

The stuffed Kong or marrow bone is supposed to be part of the meal. I usually make them at night and freeze them,  then when I'm gone longer then usual I give it to Petunia. Gunner does not like the Kong.

:apls:  Hello all!  I haven't been here in SOOOOOO long, but have thought of you all often.  I have much to tell, but little time right now.  I am living in Virginia now with my Sister and just got here Friday.  I started a new Vet Tech job yesterday at a local clinic, that actually operates 3 clinics.  There are 11 veterinarians and 75 employees total in the 3 clinics.  The owner has been practicing for 37 years and began the main clinic in 1974.  As you may have guessed I am single now, but I still have 2 furbabies.  Rascal, which you will remember, as he was just a pup when I was writing before.  He is 5 years old now, if you can believe that!  I also have Kissee, who is 2 now.  She was a rescue pup that had to have a hernia surgery at the tender age of 5 weeks old.  She is thriving and the biggest brat you ever did see!  I am getting ready for work now, so I will check in again tomorrow.  Great to see so many of you still writing here.  I love the changes!   :meme:

Hi Trish, glad to have you back.  I am glad Rascal is doing fine and I still have the picture of  him being Super Puppy that I look at every so often.  The new job sounds great and best of luck.
