The sweetest thing happened at the doggie park today. We went this morning, we usually go at night, so there were some dogs there that we hadn't met.
Well, as always we usually stand at the gate, with me holding Parker. (I like to be sure the dogs are playing nicely before I put him down). Parker appeared to be very anxious to be put down, and we both noticed a little silver dapple at the far end of the park.
Well I put him down, and Parker took off like a cannon. (very unusual, Parker usually waits for dogs to approach him).
Off he went to meet the dapple. They hit it off immediately. (Also very unusual for Parker).
While they were racing around the back end of the park, I am talking to the owner and it seems that this little doxie and Parker were in the same breeding kennel. We got Parker at 7 months, and they got Noop at 5 months, but they are both the same age.
Their breeding is different, but I know there was another litter about the same time, so we figure that these two little doxies have met before and played together.
It was also cute that when other dogs came to join in the fun, Parker was very crusty, and made it very clear that only he was playing with Noop. It was too funny. Parker never chases other dogs off.

Oh, good idea.  If Noop is a little on the chubby side, she will really love a treat from you.

Awwww!  I bet you and Noop looked great together!  Isn't fun having a special friend?  I hope you two can have lots of playdates.

Dachshunds seem to be able to identify their fellow dachshunds.   It's really uncanny.  I know that my guys (and gal) always treated other dachshunds far different than other dogs.

Sometimes I wonder if Zeke and Zora know they are related.   Both had the same dam, different sires and came from consecutive litters.  They've both spent almost their entire lives together.
