It's Sophie's Gotcha Day!

Yes! Eight years ago today, we met DeeDee at the Des Moines International Airport. She had a Sherpa bag with her, and therein was our little Sophie! We were tickled to death to be able to adopt her--and a better decision has never been made--she is a family member and an integral part of our lives. I'm trying to insert some "then" and "now" pictures...the first 2 are of her this last June (these are snapshots, and her eyes look way cloudier than they really are) and the last is the first pic that Dee sent to us--the one where I saw it and knew that she was "The One" that we wanted. We have great weather here today, expected high of 85 and sunny. We will probably cook an eggie in honor of the day for our pups, and then go play in the backyard, which they love.

And dang! I clicked the "Post" TOOOO fast! I want to add that again, we thank DeeDee...whose tireless efforts have done so much for the 3 pups that had found themselves homeless on a summer's day. I know of 2 that are in very happy homes, and are treasures of their human's hearts. Thank you again, Dee! Do you know how the 3rd pupper is doing?

Happy Gotcha Day dear little Sophie! My heart fills up everytime I see pictures of her. I just can't believe it's been eight years! She looks amazing she stole everyones hearts when she was at the shelter and then with me, she had those long curly ears from the start. The new owners of the little boy was through the shelter and I didn't get to keep in contact with them, I have thought of him over the years and hope he is happy in his home also.

Give her a hug from her sister and me and Hallie says to tell her and Sam to eat some eggies for her! She'll get hers tomorrow. :thumb:

Happy Gotcha Day to the Blur on a Leash. It was a pleasure to meet you and your BIG Bro at the Danville picnic. Somewhere I know I have pictures of that day but haven't been able to locate them.
