We need some mega healing rays for my Great-Uncle Dallas.  He is 93 and had a BAD fall in his home last evening.    He was able to push his med alert button on his necklace.  Thank God for that!!!!    They called my parents who live 2 blocks from his home and they hurried over to ride with him in the ambulance.    My dad unfortunately couldn't get time off work so he had a rough night worrying about Dallas.    My husband and I were unable to go to the hospital because our car was broken down.   :doah:    My sister was able to meet with my mom and sit with her and Dallas at the hospital in the trauma room.

Matters were made much worse by the doctor being very rude to Dallas and my mom.  The doctor was bad enough a complaint was filed to social services.     :cussing:   After the x-rays came back, they found he had a bad break in his hip.  He is set to have surgery sometime this week to pin his hip back together.     While they were waiting to get him settled in a bed upstairs, his Restless Leg Syndrome kicked in and started affecting his leg on the side of the broken hip.   :doah:   He was in a lot of pain until the medicine for that kicked in.

He could use all the rays you can give!!!  We are really worried about his hip healing and are talking about sending him back to the nursing home.  He was getting up out of his chair when his walker gave out from under him and caused the fall.   Justin and I are going to try to get over to see Dallas this afternoon.  Maybe they'll let us sneak Porky in to give him some healing kisses.     :xfinger:

Rays & lite Hugs to your Uncle Dallas hope he will do well should do OK if you or family can get him to deep breathe and cough after surgery they should also turn him. Nurses aides do not seem to do that now days??? do not know what is wrong with some doctors now days. Now days it is a very good idea for family to sit with older family members in the hospital. If family members cannot sit with him & you all can go in together hire a nurses aide or a sitter to sit with him at night the reason why I say that when they are 93 years old. When they are on pain medication, have had Anesthesia it is easy for them to get out of bed also being in a strange place will also confuse them.Good Luck Uncle Dallas.Lov Papbouv,Patchhes & Buddy

Thanks for all the rays!!   Dallas had his surgery yesterday afternoon and came through great!!!   :apls:   He is in a lot of pain.  They had to put pins in his hip to put it back together.  He has been a little confused when he is on his pain medication, but he knows where he is and what is going on in between doses.  So basically he gets confused for a half hour or so.   Yesterday he was convinced his wife had come to tell him their son just won the championship game in high school football.   We are staying with him during the day and have a nurse he knows that is in charge of care during the night.

He has a long road of recovery ahead of him, but he's strong.   We're just hoping he can stay healthy and not get sick while he's there.

Dallas is doing okay. He has a lot of pain but, is otherwise doing okay.  We figure if he's well enough to give the nurses a hard time, he's doing okay.    He is being a true "Nelson" in the hospital.  My grandpa was the biggest grouch when he was in the hospital.    As long as the onery Swede is still there, we know he has a chance.   I'm just worried Dallas is going to give up since he knows his chances of going to the Nursing Home are really high.    His care is too much for my mom to handle alone and we are all worried about him falling down his CEMENT steps that are inside his home.    He built his house with his own hands, so its hard to see him not being safe there anymore.     He is a BIG guy too, so its a struggle for the Paramedics when he does fall.     He is 6'4" and about 250 pounds.  He is not fat, that's all muscle!

He can still use all the healing rays you can find.   Thanks so much!!!!
