A few spare rays for my Rudy? 7/27 - UPDATE, on original post.

I took Rudy for his wellness checkup last Sat. My vet called yesterday and said that they found some cells in his urine indicative of a mass in his bladder. So I dropped him off this morning for them to do x-rays. They may have to sedate him and blow air in his bladder and do an internal type x-ray. If you have a few good thoughts and rays for my boy, I would really appreciate it. Will update when they call me.

UPDATE: The 2nd urine test came back positive - 78% that there is something going on. He is scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday. I really was optimistic until this - now I am really scared. He has no symptoms of anything going on - still the same little ornery, silly, toy lovin' Rudy.... my

Am hoping they will be able to read the ultrasound on Monday, so I know what needs to happen next. If there is something there, I am

2nd UPDATE - 7/27
Just got a call from Dr. Cowser. He said the preliminary report today looks encouraging, BUT they are sending this ultrasound, the previous x-ray, all bloodwork, urine tests, all of it to an internist, who will review and read the ultrasound and submit a final report. In a day or most likely two. So, not jumping for joy yet, I won't until the final report comes in and I KNOW what is going on. Kinda feel a sense of relief, but I am afraid to, ya know?

Just heard from the vet. They did sedate him and do the air in bladder x-ray, but were unable to see anything conclusive. He said there is one other urine test they will run, and if it comes out positive, will schedule an ultra-sound. I just feel that I have to exhaust all issues, and will pray like hell that it turns up being nothing. They need to keep him a few more hours for him to come out of the sedation, and to make some more pp !!! I will run and get him and take him home. Thanks for the rays and well wishes !

I am so sorry Barb, it's unbearable waiting for test results. But just remember, the chances are much better he's fine than it being something. I hope you find out soon so you don't have to worry in wait limbo for too long. Please let us know as soon as you hear something!

Oh geez Barb I know that stab of fear that takes you to your knees at times like this. We are praying that the other 22% will be the right answer! One thing I learned this year is that test results don't always tell the whole story and things aren't always as bad as they sound. Try to hold on to that and worry as little as possible (like a drop in the sea I know...). It's great that he's feeling like himself that is a very good sign too that if it's something you likely caught it early. Hang in there and let us know what you learn next, many prayers and rays coming from us.
