adventures in house-sitting, part 2

Mom and I are away from home again this weekend. This time at Uncle D and Sparky's house. Uncle D is on vacation, and mom was supposed to go with him, but she says she couldn't go because "someone small and brown" - and handsome, I might add - needed surgery so there went all her monies. PFFFT. Having surgery worse than paying for it, mom!

Besides, how could going to Chicago be half as fun as spending time with me? IT COULD NOT, that is how. Also Sparky is here and the only thing better than spending time with one adorable dog is spending time with TWO adorable dogs. Silly mommy.

We love this house - the bed in the back bedroom sits right under the window so I can lie down in comfort and stare menacingly outside at birds and cats and squirrels and other potential threats. Also, Uncle D keeps real bacon in fridge for treats for good dogs. WIN.

Oh! And my grandmother came down to visit today and brought treats - little sausages for us, and something called "Deviled Eggs" for the humans. Though I do not understand why people would want to eat eggs from the devil. EW. As it turns out, mom wouldn't eat them because they have something called MAYO in them, which she says really is from the devil anyway. So.

We have just been on a very long walk in the very pretty weather, and now I think it is naptime. It is hard work having all this fun and treats! p.s. Grandmother bought me a big new squishy pillow at the neighbors garage sale. She is awesome. Hope you are all having good weekends!

p.p.s. Scooter's mom here. Sorry I've been a bit in absentia lately. They've done another round of website blocks/removals at work, and we've lost access to another big chunk of the Internet. I fear they're keeping tabs on what sites we visit often and taking them away, so I've been laying low until things settle down. *sigh* I really wish they'd just let us have our freedom - especially those of us who are good workers and get all of our work done and always volunteer to help out when we have spare time. It sucks to feel like we are being punished all the time and treated like unruly children. Ah well, I suppose in these economic times I should just be grateful I have a job at all.

Skootr....tell your mom to think of house sitting as a staycation! You get to stay somewhere new, but don't have the expense of traveling and you are so right that it is cool she has two handsome dogs to spend her time with and that is double the fun!!! Besides, she needs to save money for a visit to bring you to Texas to meet Mr. Max. I think you would get along famously.

Nope, I don't like Miracle Whip either. It is mayo's evil cousin! What can I say? I have food issues.

Heh. Mom loves to tell me all the time how lucky I am. I think SHE is the lucky one.

She and my grandmother would love to meet you and spoil you silly! And Sparky and I would love more puppers to play with. He has about eleventy thousand toys, so there is plenty for all dogs!

Wow bacon! I want to come help you and Sparky sit on the house Scooter, can I? Did I mention...wow bacon! I can't imagine why your Mom can't afford to go on vacation, after she had your teefs pulled so she could sell them she must be rich now...I'll bet the real reason is she would miss you too much and she's secretly going to buy you a great gift with your teef money. :thumb: And what is this may oh naze, is it as good as it sounds? Slather some on BACON and I'll bet it is great! Bacon makes everything great. Tell yer Mom that OK. Then ask her if she'll send me some. Cuz I don't think I'll get any outta my Mom!

Come bizit me and play in my yard wif me OK (and bring bacon).
