I am on my way to a funeral today for a very special man.  He was our school janitor and my 5th grade basketball coach.    He worked at Home Depot until his death and was dedicated to his family and church.    He remembered all the kids he coached or said "hi" to in the hallways of the elementary school.  If you saw him, his face would light up and he would give you a huge hug.  He had nicknames for all the kids he coached and would make sure to call us that even as adults.   He died suddenly in his home and will be greatly missed by thousands of people.  (4 towns worth!!)    My hometown had a parade in his honor and is having benefit suppers for his family.    We'll sure miss Jesus (Jesse).  It will be hard to say goodbye today, but I know he's up in heaven now.

So sad Jesús is gone, but he will be living on in the hearts of all those he touched with his caring kindness.  Take solace in the funeral remembering your special times with him and let yourself grieve.  The world cannot have too many people like him - and like you - we´ll be wishing Jesús God Speed from over here too.

Amorette I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  That is great that you had such a great person in your life like him.  We don't have to many of those.  I will be thinking of you and his family.
