Do you ever just feel like you are being dumped on by the world?

I'm about at my breaking point and just venting here.  Maybe I'll feel better after spilling my guts to several supportive friends.

I just feel like everything is going wrong (except Roscoe's recovery) right now.

  • It all started 2 weeks ago when Roscoe had surgery.  So a big stresser and financial outlay there.
  • I missed work because of Roscoe's problems, so now I'm behind.  I was supposed to be on vacation all this week, but cannot because a job is not finished yet.
  • Our computer completely croaked - it was 5 1/2 years old, but still....  We had to buy a new one and set up all the old stuff and are still trying to recover things from the old hard drive.
  • Our plumbing in the bathroom went nuts and we had to fix that yesterday - really we need to just re-do the whole bathroom because of the plumbing, but that will have to wait because of money spent on the above problems.  We did a quick fix that should last for a while and that will have to do for now.
  • Then this morning, I get into my jeep and my seat breaks.  Again, the car is 5 years old...but ya know this is the last thing you need on a morning when you are supposed to be staying home with your family and instead are going to work.

Can't a girl just get a break???? Okay.  Vent over.

Seems like you just can't catch a break! Just makes you want to lock yourself in your house and snuggle up with the puppers!!

Oh Krista, I feel your pain.  I'm in a very similar boat right now.  The good news is that all of these things are temporary situations.  So when you get home from work, have a nice cup of cocoa with lots of whipped cream, and snuggle with your babies.  Watching them lick out the empty mug might be just enough to put a smile back on your face.  I know that's what I'm gonna do tonight!

Actually YES, I just had a week kind of like that :sad11:  I suppose looking on the bright side, there is nowhere to go but up.
I agree - get yourself a couple of dachshunds and lie on the couch with them for a little while.  Hope things improve for you soon.

I know exactly how you feel.  I've had a couple of months like that.  It started with training my replacement for the job I had to quit (but really loved), then there was moving the office for the DH and my company.  That got shoved back because my MIL died suddenly and then hurricane Rita hit.  I was so shell shocked that I spent all of October ducking.  I figured any minute something else was going to happen.  Hang in there. It does get better. (I hope).

Oh,Krista.  So sorry to hear about Roscoe, but glad he seems to be recovering ok.  Haven't been on the Board because of my hellish year-end.  First, Kleine's ordeals (she is hanging in there with her funky walk..hunched back and wobbly legs but just can't put her through anything else and she doesn't seem to be in pain), my broken ankle and then I just wound up in the hospital from a bad reaction to the meds I was taking for my broken ankle, which completely messed up my gut.  Two hospitalizations in two months!!  Sunday night my Maine Coon kitty passed away during the night from kidney failure (we had been keeping him going with subcue fluids for a year and he just got tired).  So I have almost lost it several times.  Don't know why we get dumped on like this, but just have to get through it.  Thoughts are with you.

Thanks Mary Anne.  Hey and thanks so much for all the good information on DODGER's list.  You have been so helpful to me with Roscoe's treatment and recovery.

I completely understand where you are coming from. It seems as though 2005 was just a bad year for everyone. Here's to hoping 2006 will be MUCH better for all!! You'll be in my  thoughts and 's. Now, go grab those babies of yours and give 'em lots o'love!!! Or, just let them lick your face til you can't stop laughing...that always works too!! :thumb:

My goodness what a disaster!!  All that bad stuff is behind you now, I'm sure tomorrow will be a better day.  My positive thoughts and prayers are with you.  Good luck!

Oh, I feel your pain!  Just last week I was feeling the same way!  I just wanted to run and hide somewhere.   :grouphug2: for you!

Try to be postive and things will get better.  My Remedy:
Put on your Pj's
Grab yourself a Hot Chocolate
Get your favourite Blankie
Grab your Dachise
Put on the TV set
Sit on the couch and be a TOTAL Potatoe!!!

My parents taught me to always think of my glass as half full, never half empty.

Yep, I get down in the dumps...and then I look around me.

When you truly realize how much worse everything really could be, things start to seem a little brighter.

Keep your chin up, keep a smile ready ;) and we'll all send positive prayers and vibes and everything will be right as rain in no time flat!

Yeah, hurricanes, pit bulls, draining bank accounts...been there.

And not the best time of the year to feel like that.  Hugging a doxy seems to help, and I find Christmas lights, Christmas movies, Christmas music....cookies and chocolate help.  I think Taffy would recommend shopping....but she's become an addict.

Sending good thoughts your way.

You're welcome. Been there done that. Have spent many, many days over the past few years feeling like the hydrant. I can identify.

LOL this little smilie pretty much sums it up, eh?

Seriously, I've had 2 dogs in 15 years with back problems. 2 surgeries; 1 ended up a cart dog (we waited too long for the surgery) and 1 is doing fine. Sadly, she was my best showdog, and mama to the youngest girls (whom I now will remove from breeding, unfortunately). So believe me, it has almost become my life's work. Glad you found us at DL... it's a pretty good group, most of the time, and most of the advice is pretty accurate.

Anyway, hang in there.
