Tonight my Sweet Precious Princess went to the Bridge

Tonight I had to send my sweet little cat Princess to the Bridge.  We found her about ten years ago as a stray while we were helping some friends in Terre Haute, Indiana.  We began feeding her while there and she stole my heart...so I bought a crate and a week later we headed for home.  She had not been eating very much the past couple days and I had become very concerned.  When I got home tonight I noticed her breathing was very hard and labored.  Apparently she had developed a respiratory condition where the lungs keep filling up with fluids no matter what medications are tried or what treatments are used.  The Vet said there was nothing we could do for her.  Her temperature was low and he indicated her body was already shutting down.  On a good note, he indicated that she did live a long life (he estimated her age to be 15 or more).  Before I left the office he came out to me and showed me a syringe full of fluids he had drawn out of her chest and reassured me I did the right thing.  For this I was very grateful.  Please say a prayer for my little baby girl.

Oh Cheryl I am so sorry to hear this. Nothing harder than losing our kids. Princess had a wonderful life thanks to you. But I know that doesn't make the pain of losing them any easier. I will keep you both in my prayers. If you can some time I'd love to see a picture of her.
