I know that I have not been on the board much in recent weeks, and it has been a difficult time for us here.

Back a few weeks ago Michelle and I had to go to Portland with James and start him on medicaion. His aorta is growing faster than the rest of his body and he still has the widening continuing to progress. He is now on medication 3 times a day, and it is more and more likely that he will need surgery by the summer to replace a section of his aorta.

Soon after returning home, I reinjured by back to the point of having to go to the hospital. I could barely move for a few days, but at least the medication helped me to deal with the pain.

Soon after that is when Michelle had a spell where she passed out in our home and I had to rush her to the hospital. She had to be shocked with the defibrillator paddles to get her heart rate back to normal.

Finally, we were ready to get away for a week to Philadelphia to visit our family, most of which had never met Baby James yet. We had a good trip, but Michelle did get a bad virus for 2 days while away.

So, we get back, and the dogs are crazy as usual. But Pedro is not his usual self, and his story will be in a separate thread.

It has been a very difficult month and hopefully things will get better soon.

Oh gosh, it sounds like you had a horrible month.  We're praying for all of you!    What caused Michelle to pass out like that?  How scary!  I hope the medication for James works well for him and that his body will catch up to his aorta growth.   Also, we're sending rays for Pedro and you, Paul.   Hang in there.   :comfort:
