We had one of those spectacular Indian Summer days in Maryland.   Temperatures climbed up into the 60s with bright sunshine.   With the leaves down and critters abound getting ready for winter even an old man like Max gets perked up when he is outside.

My in-laws were over and Jessica, my father-in-law and myself were in the backyard watching Jessica run around.   Max, meanwhile, was endlessly criss-crossing the yard at his slow and deliberate gait, stopping every few steps to investigate the newest leaf to fall onto the turf.  He stayed out in the backyard a lot longer than he typically does.  Most days, Max just goes out, does his business and comes back inside.   Today, he was out in the yard close to a half hour, which is pretty good for old Max.

It's been pretty nice here in MI also.  The weekend fluctuated between cold and warmth, but the boys didn't care as long as they were outside.  Sam, who will be 14 next week, is like Max and usually won't stay out too long, but has been extending his visits lately.  Eddie will stay outside heat or cold,  but say Greenie and he is at the door.

Sam here - da squirrels have been really nice to me lately and have been leaving crab apples by the fence for me.  Mom yells for me to quit eating them, but I tell here they are presents and that you can't look a gift squirrel in da mouth.  So squirrels keep em coming.

Good job Max - patroling your yard !!!!   We were in the mid-80's this past week end - dang - wish it would cool off - we are still having to mow the yard !!!!

I can just see Max walking back and forth - sounds like Annie.  I swear she paced that yard more than anyone!

I know what you mean, Barb!  I think we'll finally get some good fall weather this week.  It's been in the upper 70s here.

Good for you Max. We have had great weather, it's kind of scary. It's the middle of November and we haven't had anything really cold or nasty. I am not complaining just stating some facts. We are very dry for our area also. We did have a really bad storm Sat night that lasted all of two minutes but we didn't even get much rain. There was a tornado that touch down a few miles away but it didn't do much damage to any real structures.
