Hi Everyone,

We have had Koby & Tiff for two weeks now and I wanted to let you know how they are doing.  Except for chasing the cats, they have had perfect behavior.  Koby has started playing wrestlemania with Sgt & Libby.  Tiff is more serious and when the dogs start making to much noise playing wrestlemania, she goes over and gives them a deep "stop it" bark and they all stop.  It is pretty funny to watch.  They have made their way into our bed, so now we have the two of us and 4 doxies sharing a queen size bed!  There has only been one accident and it was partly our fault.  Koby tried to wake us up to go outside, but we kept telling him to go back to sleep.  The next thing I knew, I was waking up to him down on the floor crying to get back up on the bed.  While we were sleeping, he jumped off the bed, tinkled on the floor and then cried to get back up.  At least he did not go on the bed!  On Saturday, we had to leave all of them for about 10 hours.  Koby & Tiff normally stay in their crate when we are gone, but I didn't want to lock them up that long, so I put Koby & Tiff in the kitchen and Sgt & Libby in the living room.  When we came home I expected puddles, because it was just to long to leave all of them.  There was not one puddle in the house!  They were knocking each other over to get outside, but all of them held it the whole time.  Makes me wonder how many accidents they were really having at the other house.  They are really good dogs.  Tiff has taken the longest to settle in, and was depressed for a while, but now, she seems to be happy.  It is so sweet to see all 4 of them snuggling up together.  I will post pictures soon!

YAY!!!!!!!!!   :hello2:
One time when one of our kitties was spraying, the vet asked us: "What is she PO'd at?"  These two had no other way of voicing their displeasuere at the situation--because they are such sweethearts, biting is not in their nature--than to urinate in the house.  THAT certainly got them attention--which I think is all they needed to help them reach their doggie potential.

They have been vetted, eh?  How did that turn out?

Thank you Julie & Eric for giving these two a chance--a wonderful forever home is waiting for them!

It sounds like they are little angels.  Not so sure about the "monster" title they got before.  Glad they are doing so well.

That is unreal. We all knew all they needed was a chance with someone to really love them and give them a stable environment. What a great feeling to know they never have to live in their old situation again. And what a great story. I hope the gf now realizes the dogs weren't the problem after all... :idiot:  :cussing: Thanks SO much Julie and Eric! Can't wait for the pics.

Thanks for the update!  They sound like sweet little dogs.  Hurray!!!! Thay are really housebroken.

The piddle problem might have been them acting out because they knew they were not loved and not wanted (although I know Jarrett loved them), or maybe no one in their other home understood their signals for wanting out.

Could be that they weren't the problem at all.  My cousin gave his girlfriend a dog, Rufus, when they were in college, only to find that next year they could not find an apartment near campus that allowed pets.  He dumped the dog on my aunt and uncle, who already had a dog.  Soon, accidents began happening in the house.  A couple more years passed, my cousin and his GF married, got their own house, and still didn't come get their dog so my uncle gave Rufus away to a woman who seemed nice and really liked him.  Coco, my aunt and uncle's dog, was so upset to see Rufus leave that he had a heart attack and died as Rufus was leaving.  Later, the woman returned Rufus to them.  Rufus missed his old home, refused to eat anything at all and was getting dangerously thin.  She felt it was best he go back to his old home.  Rufus lived with them until he died of old age, accident free!

The culprit  isn't always who you think it is!

You know it's funny. I get dogs all the time and I am told they are housebroke and they are not. Then I get them and I am told they are not housebroken and they are. I have also had the same problem with my placements. They leave my house housebroken and they revert back to going in the house or I can place them with people telling them I can't housebreak them for anything and they never go in their new home. I tell everyone that adopts from me about these incidents. You can just never tell with a doxie. I have Kringle right now here at my house he was pretty well..................no wait he pretty well had me trained. We had a schedule and he went potty outside most of the time. At his new home he hasn't pottied outside once:( I hope he catches on soon or he may be coming back. You can never tell about people either. I can read whether they are in this for the long haul or not. I hope so he deserves to have a happy home all his own.

Thank you so much for the update and for your loving these sweet dogs.  I KNEW they could not be the monsters they were said to be.  I'm sooooo glad they're adjusting well.  Ha!  I had to laugh at Tiff barking at the rough house play.  When Dolly and Maddie were at Auntie Adela's and Unka Mitch's, Adela told us that Dolly would stern bark when Ocho and Ninya would wrassle.  My girls had a rough first year (rescues) and really never learned how to play rough.  Dolly must have thought someone was getting hurt, and I bet Tiff does too.  Bless both of you for your taking them in.  Four wieners in the queen bed......my oh my!  Where do ya'll sleep? :dontknow:

Its amazing how far a little TLC, understanding and patience will go and the good it will do.  Makes me wonder just what kind of monsters Koby and Tiff were.  Sounds to me like they were horribly neglected.  Its good to hear that they are doing so well, especially 10 hours in the house and no accidents.  Thanks for not cooping them up in their crates for such a long time, and for letting them enjoy the big bed.

That's funny how Tiff doesn't like the wrestlemania.   When we were watching Zeke & Zora, Zeke & Rudy would get into wrestling matches and Zora would come over and try to stop them (or take cheap shots at them).  It's kind of a sister/brother thing.  Zora was telling Rudy "Only I can mess with my brother!"

I am so glad to hear they are adjusting and doing well.  They are in a supporting and loving environment and it shows!
