The dining room area is empty and the living room is a bit fuller along with the spare bedroom and master bedroom.......with furniture, doggie beds and blankies, toys, etc......This afternoon the new dining room window is being installed.  Once the window is installed, then I'll be busy constructing a "perch" for the boys to sit on and gaze out the window! It won't be very high as the window will be 15-18 inches off the floor.  Sarge and Duggie are meandering around trying to figure out what is going on.  They will really be wondering when I put up the two x-pens to block the area for the guys to work and install the window.  Need to keep the four legged critters away from the two legged critters -- in their letter for preparation, the company indicated that we need to keep our animals away from the two-legged critters as they "the hoomans" have a tendency to bite.....I would block the area anyways to keep the furkids out of harms way....but thought it was a different way to say block the area from the animals.  The boys have had a busy morning.....first the monster mowers and soon the construction guys to do the window!

Dee - that is so exciting !  Will they finish it today?  Can't wait for pictures (hint, hint !).

I am thinking big fat pillows will do the trick !!

Yes, they will finish it today -- said it's a half-day job.  Will take pictures when it is done.  Pillows may just do the trick!

Wow! That will be s nice when it is finished.   Besides, it will give the boys something fun to do, BARK!!   :2funny:   They might not need to bark at all tomorrow, if they had to deal with the monster mower and the two legged creatures in the same day.  They may get all "barked out!"

That's for sure -- especially Duggie since he is my barker!  Sarge is the strong, silent type!  Duggie more than makes up for Sarge!  He can bark for the whole neighborhood!

I think I'd like Sarge to give some lessons at this house then!  Gretch and Cajsa are both HUGE barkers and I almost can't have people over as a result.  Gretchen wasn't a barker at first, but Cajsa turned her into one instead of the other way around!

Sarge is working on Duggie -- although, when Sarge wants to get Duggie in trouble, he'll let out a real low bark/growl and Duggie is off to the races barking, everywhere and at anything!

Everybody winds up Guinness, The Old Man!

One day I went to my bedroom door to the doggie deck.  It's a French door with full glass.  Merlin and Beau are at one end of the deck, barking and jumping into the air desperately trying to get at a squirrel on the tree branch hanging over their heads.  Guinness is standing at the opposite end of the deck, looking in the TOTALLY WRONG direction, sympathy-barking his head off!

Silly boy!

That's definitely an old age thing.   Max used to have similar behaviors.   In his very latter years, he became hard of hearing and his visual acuity wasn't what it once was (In his youth, Max's vision was probably the best of all of my dachsies, he could spot another dog 2 - 300 yards off and bark at it, often leaving Rudy wondering what was going on), but, as a dog, he has to put of an image that he is still lethal in defense, so when Max would get riled up, his tail would stand like an exclamation point, he would hold his head high and bark...except that he was facing the complete opposite direction.  Details.

Dee, I hope you enjoy the window as much as the boys will.  All three of my furkids are barkers, but Oscar is the one who usually gets them started.  Cannot wait to see the pictures.
